So I'm starting a salamanders army in 40k I love the HH vulkan so much that I decided to buy it and use it as a terminator captain in my army. Is this or will this be frowned upon I'm friendly games? Would you have an issue with it?

I had the same issue with my thousand sons. I love the hh magnus so much more than the reg 40k one, but it was no where near the same size to proxy so I just converted with wings to use as daemon prince

Yeah the model look amazing. Base is probably bigger then a regular terminator captain though

can only speak for myself but it's so rare I get to SEE a Primarch that if someone took one out to use as a mini my reaction would mostly be "THATS AWESOME!"

As long as he is armed appropriately (and can be armed as such in the book) why not?

Rule of Cool covers a lot of sins in friendly play.

I’d be OK with it.

What size base is he on? Some people a twitchy about that. Larger bases make for larger auras, which is significant. Size for LoS is another issue. Although it works both ways, and generally you want choppy guys smaller to hide from the guns, so I suspect this is something that’s a drawback in your case.

Always ask you opponent first. Vulkan is notably bigger than a normal Terminator marine and on a bigger base so it will effect line of sight and measurments.

So long as you a) know the rules you're playing him as and are consistent, and b) do your match partner the courtesy of asking beforehand if the proxy is ok with them, id say about 98% of folks will be fine with it.

Personally? I'd love to see something like that pop up on the table.

no issues imo. if anything the bigger base might be an advantage in tieing more thign sup in combat, but since i mostly play orks we want to be in combat anyway so just means more ork boys get to swing on him.

I'm fine with it. Just use the smaller base he comes with.

I personally use alpharius as my daemon prince.

Until their is a 40K Vulkan with rules, I legit cannot see a problem with this. It's a cool model that should have no problem representing a Termie Capt.

But it you were to, say, use the HH Guilliman in a UM army, that might be a issue since their is a 40K Guilliman

As long as you are perfectly clear before hand what he is standing in as. Also the size difference isn't too ridiculous. I would be happy to let you play your model. One of the big aspects of this hobby is the models. I love seeing cool looking models on the tabletop.

Check the size.

If he's the same size as a Terminator Captain, I'd have absolutely no issues and I doubt most people would either.

If he's larger, I'd ask that you have a Terminator stand-in to switch places if it becomes an issue, but otherwise would be fine. Even if you didn't, I probably wouldn't object much anyway.
