Wanting to make a warp spiders themed list. Snipers, characters and warp hunters will be converted appropriately. I don't have access to my books atm, but is the index autarch legal (fusion pistol, plus gun)? I'll wait until legends and FAQ is out before I start the project, but I like starting on ideas for the project. I'm hoping it has enough AT between the autarchs, warp hunters and night spinners. Ideally I'd like to beef up the spider squads, as they are the main part of the list, and will be at the forefront protecting the characters, the rest might be rather static, although warp hunters could be played aggressively. What changes should I make, but attempting to stay themed, yet strongish?

The autarch is index legal, but I expect him to become legend and therefore unavailable for matched play.

Concerning your list. I think 6 grav tanks, all trying to stay hidden for indirect shooting will be too much to hide for most table terrain. If they can't hide completely they are no longer worth the tax for their indirect shooting and I would exchange at least 2 of them for fire prisms.

6x5 ranger are also somewhat limited in what they can do. You can create huge deadzones for characters. That can work nicely for some opponents but will fail horribly for others. It might not exactly work with what you've planned for your army but I would try to get at least one unit of guardian defenders and let them deep strike. 10 are good, 20 are better and even without their final shooting it will force decisions upon your opponent.

You're opening the option to use the ulthwe guardian stratagem as well. Especially on a large guardian unit that can cause serious damage. Matched with doom even on heavy armored targets.

~19 spiders at 2k points will not provide enough character protection without assisting elements. Yes, you mentioned the warp hunters and you've got enough rangers to use them for that as well, but I feel it might be not enough to really bring pressure. Got no real idea here though without completely revamping your list.
