Not a bad miniature on this page, some very nice work! Love the conversion on the Nomad.

Can't wait to try out that heavy flamethrower
And who the hell do you think you are, turning up in this thread and showing a picture of a mini that spectacularly well painted?

Nice WIP. Camo looks good so far.
The cloak just needs depths now.

That's going to be the kicker there, how to add depth without changing the colors. Ink washes will stain the tan down to brown. Most likely the scout get stripped and I start over.

Glazes. Not meaning those colors GW declares "glaze".
Can't tell about the options when using an airbrush (don't own one and don't have practical experience) but take what you've done so far as the template.
Pick your base tan, add a bit of a dark brown, dark green or black (or mixture of those) and thin it down.
Apply the mixture to your brush and remove the bigger part of the water from the brush by doing strokes on the back of your thumb for example.
Now you have a quite controlled amount of thin paint slightly darker than your current color in your brush. Use it to paint the deeper and/or shadowy parts of the cloak.
If you make mistakes clean up again with the original color.
Repeat with same mix.
Make slightly darker mix and repeat steps above.
Repeat all of it until result looks good.
Do similar for highlights.
In general if your imagined light comes from above the figure (the most common option as I know it) materials get darker the more to the bottom they are.
End result: Depth in colors.
OK, this description is quite rough and basic but that's how I paint.
1) Base colors
2) Shadows like described above
3) Lights like described above
4) Edge highlights where it's meaningful and necessary (not the every-edge- GW-method )
Step 2) can be done with washes as well but will then need clean up afterwards.
For camo pattern this means painting it, potentially ruining it again and in the end repairing it once more.
In case you need more trustworthy sources for the theories behind this :

Thanks for the tips and I will give it a stab One of the nice things about Infinity, if I mess up all I have to do is strip the model lol.
Im still an airbrush noob, but now that I got a brush that will actually function I should start improving on that front. The fun is prioritizing what you paint, going from the harder to reach deep details to the easier stuff to access, I have some masking material, but I seem to be challenged when it comes to using it and removing it.

So here is a WIP 2.0, now with some ink work.
After the rest of him is done up, he needs a good dose of matte varnish.

I grabed a Iwata Esclipse HP-BS I linked the ebay listed I nabbed it off of, got a great deal on it. And I am finding it far superior to that piece of junk Master AB I started with.

Glad you're liking it and the results speaks for itself. Good catch on that one! Seems like Iwata and Badger are the goto airbrushes. I'd get one if I had the space.. and better ventilation in my work area lol.

I could use better ventilation lol, but I tend to work in small batches and the new Vallejo stuff removed any toxic ingredients, so I don't really have a lot to worry about.

I don't really worry about fumes or particles when I'm model making, I probably should. I do have a respirator on stand by just in case. The only people I've ever heard talking about paint dust all over their flat or breathing in too much are commission painters painting for 8 hours a day.
