I love it how they just change the scale of the tank to make it the same footprint as the tiny jeep thingy

That's always been the case with Matchbox/Hotwheels cars and their various generic clones. They're sized to fit into a consistent sized retail pack, not to any sort of accurate scale.

One of these days I'm going to convert one of my own and hope it turns out something close to that well. I don't really need a fourth A-bomb, but that's a really cool conversion, y'know?

I'm wondering if there is a way to do a new Nurgle army without the soul crushing thought of buying and converting Rhinos and Land Raiders. Haven't found the perfect transport yet though

Possible uber Rhino?

https://www.amazon.com/Assembly-Free-Armored-Military-Vehicle-Machine/dp/B011D338PQ/ref=pd_bxgy_2/131-7987237-4837004

4.4 x 10 x 11 inches

Vice a land raider which is about 7" long. So maybe a CRASSUS ARMORED ASSAULT TRANSPORT?

And this

5.75 x 15.5 x 12 inches

Looks like these might be the best for Rhinos.

12cm versus 11.5cm for Rhinos.

Eesh, at that price point it's abundantly clear that it is not being made to be played with but rather sit in someone's display cabinet.

For reference, the Lego Saturn V set is $120, is a similar size and has functional stages including the lunar lander.

Are you sure its not meant to be $50

Cause yeah at $500 that's an expensive display model and honestly for that money you can get so so many better display things for Star Trek. I guess its being marketed purely to Playmobile addicts.

Well I ordered a set to find out. I figure they might work with 28mm or 15mm armies, or just make battlefield debris. Worth the risk for £5, I feel.

Will keep you informed!

The box has something about bluetooth on it, so I'm guessing they added bluetooth connectivity to control lights and/or play sound from your mobile phone.

Which is a complete waste of money for a children's toy but just the kind of thing you can put in there to jack the price up and catch that "man gadget" feel.

Yup, looks like I guessed right: https://www.theregister.com/2021/06/18/playmobil_star_trek/

Smartphone app to control the lights and sounds.

The green one you flagged as a Rhino stand-in.

They arrived today and they are exactly as you described. Almost perfectly sized for a Rhino, the height is the same when the turret is taken off.

Soft plastic obviously, but for £1 each I can work with them.

Earmarked for Stargrave it's a bit tall but it's got a good all terrain look to it.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

I'd be interested in seeing a picture without the turret. I like the look of it so far. For soft plastic like that I've had good luck soaking the parts overnight in water with dawn dish soap and then priming/painting with Krylon Camo paints which have "Fusion" (whatever that is) and tend to adhere pretty well to polypropylene and other soft plastics.
