What do you do vs Knights or heavy tank line?

He will do the same thing all custodes do, stab it. The melta shots from the bikes simply aren't enough in most cases, and you need the anti-horde of the hurricane bolters.

I assume you deep strike the terminator captain the wardens with a stratagem wherever they are needed, and send the bikes to another spot. Your normal custodes then grab objectives. This army will only give you 6 free CP, which is really cutting it close.

I would drop the assassin and the vexilla (usually you want one, but I don't think the CP to deep strike him is worth it). With the extra 210 points you should get misercordias for all your bikes and HQ's and some more bikes and wardens. Or get a FW unit, a caladius would fit and it is not useless, even with the nerf.

Best options are the Forgeworld stuff.
Telemon is a beast, The Caladius is also a monster.

I would probably recommend splitting the Praetors into two units, if the enemy has lots of small units far apart having one large unit just means committing all your points and makes leadership failure more likely.

Wardens in a large unit are a very risky proposition. A failed deepstrike charge just cost you 1/4 of your entire army for nothing, with very little to shoot back with.

Is FW custodes stuff still good after the nerf? The Caladius autocannons are now S7, the Telemon got a points hike, and there were some other changes I think.

I don't think we've seen any tournament results post-change, but it's a mixed bag. I personally think the Caladius is still very good, but its role has changed now that it's not the consummate vehicle killer that it once was. We will now be back to relying on Warden blobs and terminators (ideally Aquilon who are still incredible against Knights even with their slight points increase). The Caladius still provides some much-needed heavy firepower at range. Maybe you won't see three in every list, and it might make the Pallas more popular now as a super flexible fire support unit. The change in strength on the Iliastus, as well as the buff to the Arachnus' beam mode means that the latter is now about 1.5x as good against T8 vehicles, about equal against T7, and the Iliastus wins out against everything else. This versatility alone means it still has a place.

The Telemon is in a weird spot. Twin Iliastus Accelerator Culverin is now identical to the Caladius' Iliastus option save for a slightly shorter range. The Arachnus option is almost identical to the Caladius Arachnus option against T8, but the higher rate of fire (assuming you take one on each arm) means that it's about 20% better against T7 and twice as good against heavier infantry, beasts and cavalry, where the difference in damage makes no difference and the higher rate of fire lets it pull ahead. The Burst mode is also a lot better on the Telemon for the same reason.

The problem though is that the Caladius' Iliastus cannon is still better against anything that isn't T8, leaving the expensive Telemon in a real niche. The fists got cheaper, so maybe it has a use deep striking as a very expensive and very scary distraction carnifex that will survive to make a charge once every three games.

Other stuff was all good, with two new troops choices in the form of the special spear and Saggitarum guard units. Both fill a need in the army. The Pyrithite spear especially looks very interesting on a deep striking unit of guard to deal with vehicles.

seriously consider Sagittarius guard. They are better as troops than regular Custodes if you are going to walk them.
