GW's announcement that all Index-only units are being mothballed into Legends has me concerned for the Death Korps. I'm a correct to assume the DKK are being shoved into stasis pond and ejected beyond the event horizon? This would be a depressing sad fate for my hobby and such an awesome faction. I realize GW had sent them on a downward slide since the end of 7th, but I was holding onto my optimism that the DKK would continue to receive support.

Any news or insight would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

That isn't what they said.

Please do correct me. My interpretation of GW's statement is that all units, factions, etc. without a codex (i.e. they only exist in Index) will enter Legends.

We have no idea if this applies to Forgeworld. My interpretation is that they're just talking about GW Indexes moving to Legends, but we won't know for sure what is happening until they release more information.

Personally I would say it's extremely unlikely that anything currently on sale will be sent to Legends.

Good point, we are working on limited info. With that said, multiple DKK units are no longer for sale. Furthermore, their support has nearly vanished potentially compromising GW's aim to provide balance. I am not optimistic.

Forgeworld has been in a really weird spot this edition. It's basically have gotten negligible support model wise and this is the first edition I've played in that hasn't seen an IA book drop.

what’s happening to some of the treasured older models that previously had rules in our Index books

If you assert this to mean that Ynnari are going to legends or that indexes will no longer be a thing I have no idea what to tell you.

apparently forge world was shifted to focus more on specialsit games then producing extra units for 40k

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

They have been systematically removing Forge World models that aren't specialist games or 30k stuff, and I've no doubt they will keep that up until the entire range is expunged. I expect the superheavies without 30k rules (like the Manta and the Astraeus) will be the only exceptions once the purge is finished.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

They’ll Legends all of FW in my opinion, given they’ve taken 2 years and not released any Imperial Armour books as promised/suggested. The. If FW decide to resurrect things they can, and if not there are rules til the moulds break.

On moon miranda.

Given the state of the actual DKoK rules, I'm not sure it would matter much, there's very little reason to not just use the IG codex currently for them

Who knows what will end up ultimately happening, given that FW's 40k rules have largely just been forgotten, I suspect that they're shuffling most of that off in some form or fashion, as the main studio has been taking responsibility for points costs and new unit rules instead of FW for some time.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

Oh no, my Index Daemonkin from Shadowspear! Guess I can't use the psychic warlord traits for Chaos then.

Index does not mean literally everything named Index, it just means the original soft cover releases from the start of 8th. I dont know how its so hard for people to grasp that.

I believe THIS is a good indication that Forge World will go to Legends.

I don’t get what you mean. All of the IA indexes are still there....

So you're ignoring the fact that if you click "All" there on the left you get this?

You would expect when you click 'Indexes' on the side that it would show the indexes. It doesn't. Why would I or anyone else click 'All' when they're only looking for indexes?

Because this is GW/FW & they've long linked/not-linked things strangely at times. Heck, what they're currently showing there isn't an Index....
