I need a good solid base color for a bright orange. Something similar to VMC goldbrown (Iyander darksun foundation) but for orange.

I would like something that can be used with VMC Hot Orange, Bright orange, orange fire.

I am leaning toward Valleho Yellow OChre. Anyone have any recommendations?

What do you mean by base color? The undercoat, shadow, mid-tone? For undercoat white is best for bright colors. For shadow color on a bright orange I like to go more on the red-orange side like Burnt Orange rather than a brown-yellow like Yellow OChre. You get more contrast that way.

I use Iyander Darksun and then hot orange with an agrax wash on my Genestealer cult to get “Star Wars flight suit” orange.

I use Reaper Orange Brown, but I apply oranges with an airbrush so it's easier to get good coverage.
