Hey guys.

I’ve got a tournament coming up and I’m planning to use the below list. Thoughts?

The 3 tank commanders will sit in 6 inch range of my warlord for the reroll wounds against an enemy unit and for the relic of lost cadia t2.

The intention is the tank commands pask and Castellan present 3 high priority targets while bring able to easily take out 2 knights a turn. Could always do with more guard but I don’t have anything to drop bar a wyvren. I could also move pask into the emperors fist detachment to be part of the 3 tank old grudges relic of lost cadia bubble, but he could take out an enemy by himself so I don’t know if he needs to be part of the group or set off by himself.

ok. drop a wyvern, for to begin with.
Sad but true, you have 6 gaurd sqauds to give a mortar each, replacing its effect for 30 points, and a grenade launcher each, enhancing its effect for 18 points, and a bolter each, just cause, for 6 points (the sgt can take)
Where you had 9 shots at range with each sqaud, you now put out 9+d6 s3 shots and 1+d6 s4 shots (and the d6 s4 ignore LOS)
You still have 46 points to splurge with,
You can buy two platoon commanders and arm them both with bolters, too. (alternate idea, one PC and one astropath, no bolter but you gain a denial, a deny cover effect, and a support spell of some kind like nightshroud).
NOW you can issue an order to EVERY squad in your army, so if you are bracing to recieve a horde and pouring on the dakka, you can reroll all the misses in the army even on a turn you don't pop the relic of cadia. Or you can let the platoon commanders yell "move move move" at the troops to whip them out of cover and grab an objective, to win in tournament play. Give the two tank commanders without relics each a heavy stubber (to spend the very last points) and you gain another 6 shots dakka.

Dakka lost .. 4d6, rerolling all wounds. (not too shabby)
Dakka gained... 12d6 + 18 shots, rerolling all misses for the 12d6 +12 each round, and enhanced mobility and the ability to order your distant units with local commands.

2 extraordinarily cheap characters are added to your army, and if the enemey is far away, in some matchups they can rear deploy and stand in the open smiling (against some armies, anyway) and be immune to all sorts of non-sniper fire while they earn objective poitns for you. Then duck back into cover behind LOS when enemy gets in position to start killing them.

I reckon that adds huge flexibility and basically puts you on equal footing with a lot of horde armies, where right now, I think you have a nice wyvern but the abilities of the gaurd infantry are underuntilized across the map.
