I'm looking into getting some sort of kill team list together for a local group that plays with core and elites at 125 points (apparently it makes for more diverse choices in lists with elites compared to standard 100pts). I'd like some help with coming up with a good list and a larger roster outside of that. I have no idea what the meta is like in terms of factions besides that one other person is joining with admech.
Currently I am thinking:
1 Gretchin (leader)
1 Ammo runt
1 Flash Git w/ targeting squig (comms)
1 Flash Git (heavy)
1 Boss Nob w/ kombi skorcha
1 Kommando Boss Nob w/ power klaw (combat)
1 Ork Gunner w/ big shoota
4 Kommandos w/ sluggas and choppas
My basic plan is that the grot leader hides somewhere while a combat team of the kommando boyz, kommando nob, and skorcha nob move up to flush out enemies while the fire team of the flash gitz, the gunner, and ammo runt lay down some firepower. I've got the comms git with the targeting squig so that the bonuses to hit are spread out a little bit and both flash gitz can fire with decent accuracy, even on the move.
Looking at this list, what holes do you see that I should cover with my other roster slots? I was thinking of just having more kommandos and grots in the roster in case I need to horde it up more for certain games. What else would be useful? Also, am I right in assuming that kommandos just look like a better option than regular boyz? The additional cost compared to general durability seemed worth it to me. And because I'm running flash gitz, is it like regular 40k where I'm locked into running freebootas if I want them to benefit from kultures? Is it better to run as freebootas to ensure the gitz get the kulture bonus, or are other kulture options so good in kill team that it's worth it to just forgo kulture on the flash gitz just so the rest of the team can benefit from some other, better kulture? Freebootas seems a lot easier to trigger and spread around the benefit in kill team than in standard table top.
