Looking for some advice

Ive read alot of warhammer fantasy novels back when there was an old world and enjoyed them. Ive never tried a Gotrek and felix book nor have i read any age of sigmar novels.
I know theres a new Gotrek and felix dlc here and a new book in Age of sigmar so thought id give them a try.

The problem is the thought of catching up on 20 odd books is unrealistic im just not gonna have time so wondering what a good entry point would be midway or near the end.Im due to go on holiday so could squeeze 2-3 books in.

Honestly I'd say grab the "Gotrek and Felix" Omnibus 1 (if you've an e-reader then that's ideal). It gives you several books and short stories and is set in publisher order so you get the very beginning of their adventures when they go through some of the biggest changes and are establishing themselves. There are still key stories later on, but start at the beginning.

Even with just those books you'll get a good concept for the characters, who they are and how they develop and relate to each other.

It's hard to suggest other starting points as there are several major novels that make for important story points; but they connect together and rely on parts from the first (most of the books run one into the next). Getting an appreciation for their rivalry with Skaven; or Ulrika's story arc or the other Slayers etc.. is hard if you don't follow the story through.

So start with omnibus 1 - just think there's only 4 of them so that's not too hard to read through. I've been casually reading here and there and got as far as the midway on the 3rd so far.

They're not super deep reading, they're a ton of fun and the new model is great but BEGS for a Felix model (or at least rules so I can scratchbuild a guy) to go with him.

Maleneth needs a model! Then again she's probably got to secure herself a few more novels as a loyal follower of Gotrek before she's that lucky.

Then again Max, Snorri and Ulrika did get models of their own once. But I think we are a long way off such a display for AoS. That trio had many adventures before they got models.

Any Snorri model should have a bucket of vodka.
