I just picked up a Stormfang Gunship at an auction. It was assembled and complete except for the canopy. Does anyone know where I could pick one up? Ebay doesn't have any and I've gone through several bitz sites and only one even carried parts for the Stormfang (but didn't have any of the canopy in stock).

Ahh, another Schamburgian. What a small galaxy.
Really, just keep doing what you're doing. The canopy is going to be a rare part to find as a separate bit because how often do people use the canopy, but not the rest of the kit.
Is it a single piece, or is it and the canopy frame two separate pieces? If you've got the frame, it might be worthwhile to just cut out piece of blister pack to fit in its place.

Yeah, canopies (especialy the clear plastic components) are basically impossible to find second hand.

I've found them before in the big bin o' bits you can find at cons, but like everyone else was saying, they're pretty rare. If you have one on hand, you could always try casting it in clear resin (or just scratch building one), but I imagine that's not the case or you wouldn't have said anything.
Battle damage would be an option? Or the "fly me closer so that I can hit them with my sword" pose? It's a classic.

Is it too complex to work one out of plasticard/clear plastic (like you'd find on a blister). Most Marine canopies are pretty boxy, full of rivets. Would be easy to slice up a frame of plasticard and jam some clear plastic in there.
Another option is to hit up the toy store and find a really cheap sci-fi or military plane with a similar sized cockpit you could break off and use....after buying the toy of course. Maybe a dollar store kind of deal.

Creating one myself isn't going to happen - it sounds like way too much effort (and I don't have another one to base it off of anyway). I think I may just paint it to be battle damaged or just make it like it was never there - I only paid $36 so I guess you get what you pay for. And/or, I could put it to the end of the painting stack and cross my fingers a part shows up online.
