Hi all!

So, as ever, my waxen McBogus wings extend far beyond my reach.

I decided to finally have a crack at the power armored Grombrindal, after a loooong while of not being sure what to do with him. I settled on making him a Squat Slayer, long lost on his adventures through the 40k universe, stomping monsters and sorting grudges, all while working for an Ordo Xenos Inquisitor.

I decided on 1. Making him have white power armor. Partly because I'm not totally satisfied with how it came out with my GSC, partly because he's the "white" dwarf... partly because... I've heard white is tricky, and I wanted to have a crack at it.

And 2. Battle damage. Again, something I do inconsistently, and want to work on. I've been muddling around with rust, chipping and dust - I added a glaze the same colour as the sand base, to try and look like fine dust accumulated on his grieves (he is pretty close to the ground, after all... )

other than the white power armor, (which I'm still up for tweaking a lil), everything else is WIP. I'm planning on adding some blue to the palette, mostly in the gemstones on his beard ornaments, and as a glow/lightning effect on the power axe, maybe a hit of it in the shading around his eyes, and if I'm brave enough, his face tattoo, too.

Anyways! Thanks for stopping by, please lemme know what ya think!

What made you go with a ginger dwarf and not white?

I wanted him to be a slayer, and decided white would make a good power armor colour, as I was a bit torn as to what scheme to go for. I've got a few white-haired guys in my imperium collection already, so I figured I'd mix it up a bit, and also had a misconception about slayers, and thought their hair was orange because of the animal fat they spike it up with bc I'm a big dummy dum dum.

Looks pretty good. I'd keep it at that with the weathering though. Too much and it will start to look bad, especially on such a small model.
