I have become hypnotized by painting up a Genestealer Cult kill team that I am considering slowly making a full army out of. The background I am going for with them is a sort of western United States a tightly knit hick clan of isolated miners, ranchers and laborers that live and work in an irradiated area shipping in their minerals and other resources to planetary colony. I think Rusted Claw is the best fit especially since much of my painting scheme already matches.

I am using my Space Hulk genestealers as inspiration for their skin and chitin which consists of light gray skin and dark gray chitin. However, for the cultists I try to mix in a fair amount of fair flesh that gives them still a gray palour that just doesn't pass for human. I am still not sure what direction I am going to go with the claws. For the cultists I have gone with bone, but I am thinking for the actual genestealers of going glossy black. My space hulk ones have silver claws, but I don't think that works as well for the genestealer cult as it looks less like Aliens and more like the cultists fit the genestealers with silvered weapons.

Note: these models were built for use in Kill Team and as such don't conform to Genestealer Cults squad limitations.

Is that Rakarth flesh for the skin? I want to do a lighter tone for mine and I can't decide which.

Nice work! I like your background idea for a kill team style group.
The skin tone fits well and came out great. Same with the unifying colors.
The visors you did really pop for me. Good contrast colors and such.
I do think you need to "dirty" it up a little, which may be your plan as you hinted that you're not done yet. I think the weapons look to "clean" if that makes sense. They don't look like they've been used, but just came from the packaging. Maybe some rust in places or just more of a wash with an earth wash?Even some chipping (paint them a darker steel color then drybrush edges with a silver). I've had decent luck with a dark brown dabbed on with an orange spotted over it then washed with brown, although I've only used it on terrain pieces like this (I suspect there's a few on Dakka with far better rust ideas):

Keeping the hobby side alive!

I never forget the Dakka unit scale is binary: Units are either OP or Garbage.

@Fajita Fan

It is a mix of Reaper Fair Flesh and Vallejo Light Gray. It doesn't take much gray like a 1:4 or even 1:8 ratio (I don't mix with any consistency) to really change the flesh to that gray. For contrast, my bases are edged is the same Light Gray I am using with the flesh. Reikland Flesh looks like it would be a good substitute though I haven't used Citadel Paints before.

@edwardmyst

You know, I didn't actually think to weather anything. I usually don't worry about weather as I like the cleaner look. However, in the case of my Genestealer Cult; I think some light chip weathering would be in order. An actual Rusted Claw cult would probably be even more rusted, but those rules were just a best fit and I don't want everything to look completely rusted out. Thanks for the suggestion.
