Quick question about one of the new Iron Hands strategems:

Souls of Iron
Use this Strategem in your opponent's psyhic phase, when an enemy psyker model manifests a psychic power within 24" of an Iron Hands unit from your army (after any Deny the Witch attempt). Roll one D6; on a 4+ that psychic power is resisted.

The wording above seems to say that you need to perform a deny the witch attempt before using the strategem? Is that the case? Or is this more of a permissive wording to indicate that you may do both a deny the witch attempt and this strategem?

Thanks!

It means you can do both, but can’t do this until after you’ve decided whether to DTW.

But to be clear you may use the strategem with no psyker capable of DTW in your army, correct?

There is a similar IH warlord trait that is explicitly clear that it works on non-psykers. I guess their cold logic and bionic-enhanced physiology give them a chance to dismiss certain psychic attacks.

Clearly you need to be in the sweet spot between Necrons, who are too robotic, and regular Space Marines, who are not robotic enough
