Hello Folks,

what is your opinion on said tank?

Are they any good? (especially 2-3 as MBT)
I know they were quite good as Iron Hands but after the nerf....

Not sure about a 300+ pts Model without 2+ oder inv save

THanks in advance

I have been running 2 of them in my 2,000 Points lists regularly since the model was released.
Despite the latest Iron Hands FAQ, they still provide extremely long-range anti-tank firepower with reliable damage output.
They also have respectable anti-infantry firepower at 30" range with plethora of small arms.

Either before or after the FAQ, target saturation is key as is the case with most costly vehicles.
On top of that, I always try to supplement a pair of repulsors with additional source of firepower.
Stormhawk Interceptors are excellent candidates as they are mobile, lethal, and are less affected by the FAQ compared to the repulsors.
However, as I have yet to collect and assemble multiple of them I plan to use grav cannon devastators in drop pod for momentary substitute.

I see

So I need another anti-tank threat in my list.
Or are there any nifty tricks to keep them alive? My local meta sees a awful ltlot of - 4 weapons especially Dunecrawler. This Thing dont suffer the - 1 to hit for moving and firing heavy weapons have a good range and a terrifying amount of firepower.

Had the same problems with IG against Mechanicum but their tanks are way cheaper.

One repulsor with a character carrying Ironstone nearby might be able to weather alpha strike.
Not because it is extremely durable, but because the opposing player will usually focus on destroying the other respulsor without the ironstone buff.

With the absence of 5+ invulnerable save aura Feirrors brings and the nerf to the Ironstone, playing on a board with reasonable amount of terrains that block line of sight is the only saving grace.
That and the target saturation, be it using multiple repulsors or bringing other means for providing firepower.

As for dealing with Dunecrawlers, using Repulsor's superior range(72" for heavy laser destroyer) will be crucial.
If I recall correctly, neutron lasers have 48" range which is far shorter than that of the repulsor.

I don't like the look. Way too many weapons makes them seem like something I'd have drawn in my primary school maths copy and the abandonment of tracks is an aesthetic misstep in my opinion.

Very good unit. I run an Executioner alongside a regular Repulsor in most lists. The ability for the regular variant to transport 5 Aggressors is worthwhile. The Repulsors look amazing on the tabletop.

You need to have a list which presents your opponent with tough choices, if you have one Repulsor surrounded by infantry every anti tank gun your opponent has will target it.

Also you need good terrain. The Repulsors has a high cost but it can fly. Use that ability, deploy behind LOS blocking, etc

Granted, I’ve only used the Repulsor so far (and in 1K games), but it has a sick amount of firepower - I can imagine the Executioner only enhances that.

In 40K these days, anything that can be seen is instantly deleteable. The trick is that whatever is shooting at the tank isn’t shooting at something else in your army. Confound the enemy with target priority, and it will do fine. Make it an obvious, juicy target and you’ll suffer for it.

It never ends well

I mean, stuff dies, and it's only really a problem if everything is dying. Any one thing has a life expectancy of 1 turn in the face of a dedicated effort to remove it [and that's the way it should be], so the answer is to have more of them, or at least more ways to provide the same capability and more targets of a kind.

Having multiple sources of antitank weapons, and have multiple tank type targets. As a general rule, you want to have a diverse offensive profile [the ability to confront light infantry, heavy infantry, and armor equally well] but a monolithic defensive profile [so that the parts of the enemy army geared towards killing whatever you aren't have no efficient target]. And when in doubt, if it's imperative that a specific unit survive, bring two or three of it.

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades!

generally it's considered the best Space Marine tank right now so if you have to have a tank or two, it's worth including in the list. as others have noted, it hits plenty hard, and it's got sufficant anti-infantry that it'll always have lots to shoot. even if you put it down and your enemy ran a infantry hoard army I think you'd not feel it was wasted. (don't get me wrong you'd proably prefer having a regular repulsor in that situation but..)
