UPDATE #1
Let's go to the Infinity Defiance!

We’re very excited! Our first Kickstarter campaign is here, and we wanted to go all out to bring you a Dungeon Crawler that we love, and of course, with the best metal miniatures on the market.

Infinity Defiance is the new co-op game from Corvus Belli set in the Infinity Universe. Aboard the Defiance, a group of heroes will face the Human Sphere’s most dangerous threat. An exciting adventure in which you are the protagonist.

Welcome to Infinity Defiance!

And now, more information!

We’ve unlocked the miniature and profile of Rahman Rouhani, the Haqqislamic doctor. This miniature and his cards will be included in all pledges (CORE – COLLECTOR’S – DELUXE).

This is what we call TESEUM GOALS - but what is this about Teseum Goals? They’re unlockable content we’ve made available for our backers and followers, asking nothing in return, for we -at Corvus Belli- are renowned for caring about our community and for this campaign we wanted to keep them in mind more than ever.

Within Haqqislam, there is a separate people formed by the descendants of the members from NASA that joined Haqqislam back when this movement first emerged as the savior of the agency, hiring personnel and equipment for their exodus to Bourak. It’s a group without a defined ethnic background, inheritors of starry dreams, and all of them live in space, work in space navigation, or in research.

This is the case for Rahman Rouhani, whose genealogy can be traced back to Jody Bowles - a transorbital operations supervisor in the now defunct Ellen Ochoa Station, which orbited Jupiter. Like his parents before him, Rahman was born aboard a ship dedicated to the Silk trade, and spent almost his entire life among caravanserai and orbital stations, being his tenure as a student in the University of Medina his longest stay in the same gravity well. Young Rahman didn’t care for rocket physics nor astronomy, but his altruistic spirit got him into the Faculty of Medicine, thanks to the scholarship the Diwân of Culture grants those Haqqislamic citizens that aspire to a higher education in a top university but cannot afford it.

Rouhani considers himself a physician rather than a soldier, and as such, would only brandish a weapon to protect civilian life or the life of his companions, but he isn’t the kind of person that enjoys action. Nonetheless, and in spite of his better judgement, his calling as a healer and protector, and his sense of duty, constantly drive him to volunteer for operations he always regrets afterwards. That being said, even for Haqqislamic standards, Rouhani is a profoundly loyal and committed individual, with a great capacity for work and better manners. He won’t hesitate to risk his life for that of his colleagues or of any civilian, even though his expression seems to be constantly saying “I’m a doctor, not a warrior.” It comes as a surprise to nobody that he’s always requesting for a transfer to any Navy Medical Officer position, in hopes of returning to the very stars he belongs , as heir to the best of NASA’s traditions.

We’ve also unlocked Billie’s (Jazz’s Palbot) miniature, which will be included with the Collector’s and/or Deluxe pledges - another of our Teseum Goals!

Jazmín Caticovas programmed Billie’s mini-mind as a personal project so long ago that even she doesn’t remember when she started. She developed a Geist to interact with and talk about her passion for Jazz, giving it the personality of her beloved Billie Holiday. Little by little, with each line of code, Billie started developing a daring personality of her own, hardly distinguishable from the actual jazz singer. Billie is a Geist personality so complex, that Jazmín considers her a friend - maybe her only true friend. She installs copies of Billie in different Palbots for field missions, and for her last installation, Billie herself has opted for the appearance of a humanoid bat.

Remotes are semi-autonomous support units with little armor but they are extremely fast and versatile.

If you want to know more about these little robots, we recommend reading this article: Adopt a bot.

And for Infinity players we have a big surprise in store. Here’s the profile for Boarding Action Sheskiin! - Another Teseum Goal

Available in Army soon ☺

We will see you in the next update!

Wow! So many stretch goals unlocked!

Thank you again for your incredible support! We've unlocked the doctor specialty cards.

We’ve unlocked the Basic Combat, Medicine, and BioTech specialty cards!

What are these new specialty cards?

As the Campaign unfolds, Characters can improve their combat skills - through Specialty cards.

At the end of a Campaign mission, each Character acquires one of their Specialty cards as long as they have seven or fewer cards, and meet the requirements of that card. These cards are personal and non-transferrable, and once acquired cannot be removed from the game or from the Character. The effects of Specialty cards of an Unconscious Character cannot be applied.

Throughout the Campaign, each Character can acquire up to eight Specialty cards from the available thirteen. According to which mission has just been completed, the maximum level a new Specialty can have is:

Available specialties are: CC Weapons, Berserk, Mobility, Basic Combat, Controller, Hacker, Light Weapons, Dual Wield, Camouflage and Infiltration, Heavy Weapons, Leadership, IP Combat, Medicine and BioTech Combat. Each hero has also a specialty of their own.

This unlock is available for all pledges (CORE, COLLECTOR’S AND/OR DELUXE).

We just keep unlocking stuff!

We all agree that Billie is adorable, but she’ll also be a powerful ally on the board. She’s a synchronized remote that’ll always depend on a controller - and in this case it’s Jazz.

Remotes have their own attributes, attacks, and skills, which may come handy during the game. Remotes must always be activated either immediately before or after their controller’s turn.

And these are the 10 cards we’ve unlocked:

This stretch goal will be available for all pledges (CORE, COLLECTOR’S AND/OR DELUXE).

Don’t stop ‘til you get enough!

We continue to unlock cool stuff for Infinity Defiance.

We’ve unlocked 10 extra Equipment cards!

Equipment is key to all heroes. Every player begins with a starting Equipment, which will be placed on the card of their Character by matching the icons showed both in the hero’s card (hands, torso, and head) and the Equipment card. You can only equip it if the tabs on the Character card are free. For example, if the Character is equipped with a pistol on one Hands tab, they cannot also be equipped with a heavy weapon which requires two Hands tabs. If the Equipment card does not have a location tab, the item it represents is considered to be very light or small in size, so is easily carried by the Character without occupying a location.

All heroes that want to use their equipment must first have it equipped. To do so, the Equipment card must be associated to at least one location tab other than the Backpack.

The Backpack represents the capacity of the Character to carry additional equipment that is not being actively used. All the Equipment that has a hand, torso, and/or head icon may be stored in the Backpack.

One of the heroes’ actions is Equip, which will allow you to distribute equipment, besides taking things in and out your Backpack, you may exchange Equipment with your comrades, as long as they stand on spaces adjacent to you.

This stretch goal will be available for all pledges (CORE, COLLECTOR’S AND/OR DELUXE).

What are your thoughts on the new equipment? Let us know in the comments below - you know they’re very important to us.

Also, we know that every good Dungeon Crawler is improved with 3D scenery - and together we’ve managed to unlock 3 turrets!

Turrets are part of some of the facilities’ security systems. They’ll attack the Characters, but can also be hacked.

This stretch goal is only available for the DELUXE pledge.

We will see you in the next update!

This is going so fast! More amazing Strecht Goals, the first Addon and a micro-goal!

We feel like celebrating! We’ve unlocked another Teseum Goal. We’re talking about an increase in quality for the Aggro tokens.

This Teseum Goal will be available for all pledges (CORE, COLLECTOR’S AND/OR DELUXE).

What’s Aggro?

Aggro is a measure of how threatening the Character is to their Enemies. The more successful a Character is (inflicting Damage, Hacking, etc.), the more they draw attention from the security systems. Instructions in the AI cards will often target the Character with the highest Aggro, considering them the main target of their attack; or the one with the lowest Aggro, considering them the most harmless of their targets.

Also, the 40mm base adapter has been unlocked, so you can play with large miniatures more comfortably. Include 3 bases.
This stretch goal will be available for all pledges (CORE, COLLECTOR’S AND/OR DELUXE).

Hey, Backers!! We’re still on fire with this campaign, and between us all, we’ve managed to unlock 2 corpses that’ll become an awesome addition to your game’s scenery.

All Characters can search the corpses for items. Corpses are (for all intents and purposes) Containers - but instead of drawing 2 cards, you just draw 1 and look for a MediKit in the Loot deck. As you can imagine, corpses can’t just be left out to rot.

This stretch goal will be available for DELUXE pledge.

We’ve got our first Add-On! We’re talking about the Scenery Pack - the perfect complement to get your 3D game experience to the next level. You can purchase it separately in the Pledge Manager.

What’s an Add-On?

Add-Ons are additional purchases you can make in the Pledge Manager (the platform that manages your contribution and shipping data) after the Kickstarter campaign has ended. Add-Ons will be available for all pledge levels.

If you have any questions about Add-Ons or the Pledge Manager, just ask us

In addition to all this, our first micro-goal is now active. What’s this about micro-goals? They’re basically unlocks where we will ask you to interact with us.

In order to reach it, we’re asking for your help. ☺ We must get more than 75 RT between after the next Tweet, so nobody misses the news that our Infinity Defiance campaign is active.

So what do we get with this? We’ll unlock Qiang’s profile for Infinity. Are you eager to know what can he do or which armies will he belong to in your favorite wargame?

We will see you in the next update!

Also, we’ve unlocked Onyx Enemy cards! We told you Infinity Defiance would have other enemies. In this case, try to reuse your Onyx (Combined Army) miniatures to turn them into enemies for the heroes to face.

Enemy cards Umbra Legates & Unidrons are now available!

The Umbra are one of the most dangerous, murderous races in the entire universal warriorhood. Mysterious martial artists from an unidentified planet, the Umbra have been the scourge of the cosmos for ages. Subjugated, dominated or seduced by the EI, they have become its field assistants, a conduit through which the Evolved Intelligence makes its wishes known. They serve as the EI’s heralds, enforcers, mediators, lieutenants, judges, executioners and right-hand men. Their political and military specialty is trouble, and the causing and suppressing thereof. Brought forth by the darkness, these cruel entities hold a fearsome power that the EI harnesses to inflict the worst punishments and lead mass destruction operations as their wrath seethes unmeasurably.

About Unidrons:

When the EI requires soldiers, it does not bother to recruit them. It harvests them.

The bulk of the Ur armed forces that the EI used to jumpstart its campaign of conquest was comprised of Batroids, techno-organic units designed for action in hostile environments. In the Ur culture, the use of Batroids as operatives predates even the creation of the Evolved Intelligence, but the EI has been able to use them as a tactical resource to great effect. These silicon-based/carbon-based hybrids are cultivated in rapid-growth plantations using a monitored pseudo-intelligent substrate. Their mind-structure is based on the neural pathways of the Ruaria, animals bred by ancient Ur as pets and hunting companions, but also for war and exploration. Ruaria were highly appreciated for their courage and unwavering loyalty.

With minimal alterations in the data payload applied during growth, Batroids can be supplied with a specialization. They can be qualified workers, explorers or professional combatants for logistics and support—such is the case of Ikadrons—or for frontline operations. The latter, called Unidrons, are the foundation of the Hegemonic Fleet and were responsible for its greatest victories in the first days of its expansion efforts, when the presence of actual Ur on the battlefield was a common sight.

Nowadays, the EI utilizes the armed forces of other races in its empire, but it always maintains a Batroid contingent of varying size as an element of deterrence against insurrectionist tendencies. Batroids are a further layer of control over these races, one that helps them maintain their military efforts focused on advancing the global goals of the Combined Army. The EI has many Batroid plantations hidden away all over its territories. For each of these farms whose location we know, we have reports of three that remain unidentified. Hundreds of thousands of these Unidrons await inside these growth compounds, learning and being patiently improved upon. One word from the EI and they will all be immediately harvested and readied to live and die as its soldiers.

Tips on how to replace Shasvastii troops for these new troops will be included in the game.

This stretch goal will be available for all pledges (CORE, COLLECTOR’S AND/OR DELUXE).

We’ll see you in the next update!

Backed for collectors edition, but I'll likely drop down to just core simply because I really, really, REALLY never cared for shasvasti and I could probably fill in most or all of the blanks with Sedition Wars, Halo heroclix or any of the hundreds of other models already filling my closet. In fact the Sedition Wars terrain set is absolutely perfect for this game and is ABS plastic instead of resin, glad I bought a few of them when they were readily available.

I adore CB and Infinity, but despite the hype I'm only luke-warm on Defiance, there's just too many good sci-fi dungeoncrawlers already out there that I don't play enough as it is. In fact If I could get Core Space for a decent price in the US I'd probably just rather use that with Infinity figs instead of Defiance. GMG and Mayacast both posted Let's Play episodes for Defiance, I'll check them out after work and hopefully those will win me over more. I WANT to be excited about Defiance, I just ain't

Reached 300K €! You're amazing! New addon and stretch goals unlocked!

Hello again backers!

We’ve unlocked Uma’s Infinity profile!

Thank you so much for your support - you’re awesome!

Another micro-goal is now open! Do you want to find out how’s Cadin’s Infinity profile looks? Help us get 300 Likes on Instagram in this post and we’ll unlock it together!

Lovers of the hobby: you’ll be delighted with the new unlock. We’re talking about a new head for Qiang that will allow us to replace the base one with it.

Qiang Gāo always wanted to be a good officer, but what is actually a good officer? The textbook definition would be “one who accomplishes the mission.” Nevertheless, military discipline and the reality of combat don’t allow such simplistic definitions. In the trenches, the most valuable officer is the one who’s concerned both about the mission and the men and women under their command. In the offices of the High Command, the most valuable ones are those who carry on with the mission and the orders, while respecting the chain of command. Sometimes these visions are incompatible, and a time may come when an officer has to choose between them. That choice will determine the course and success of their military career.

During the Japanese Uprising, Qiang Gāo was the colonel in charge of the 5th Regiment of Zúyŏng Invincibles, the Terracotta Soldiers, of the Orange Banner Army’s VI Corps, deployed at Kuraimori. During the assault on Tabigarasu Junction, an important communications node in the Furuitsue peninsula, his regiment took control of an energy substation important to regional operations. Surrounded by Japanese troops from the Fukku Operative Group and isolated from the rest of his forces, Qiang Gāo devised a defensive strategy that would allow him to protect his position until reinforcements arrived. Nevertheless, the High Command, in need of a victory to show to the media, ordered him to engage one of the Japanese forces’ positions that Intelligence thought held the Fukku Group headquarters. Despite how attractive it was to behead the Japanese forces in the zone, this was an extremely risky move that would have weakened the 5th Regiment’s defenses and endangered them. Besides, the colonel was fully aware those orders were based in unconfirmed intelligence, which could be wrong or even a trap. Not to mention that the numerical superiority of the Japanese forces assaulting the substation meant that any unit tasked with such attack wouldn’t return alive, even if successful.

It was then that Qiang Gāo had to decide what kind of officer he wanted to be. Should he sacrifice troops and risk a position, but carry on with the orders received, or protect the men and women under his command and risk the position he was supposed to defend and defy a direct order? Should he be a trench officer or a career officer?

This stretch goal will be available for the COLLECTOR’S and DELUXE.

We’ve unlocked more Onyx Enemy cards! As you’re well aware, in Infinity Defiance you can use your Onyx miniatures (Combined Army) to turn them into the enemies of the heroes.

Enemy cards Xeodron & Fraacta are now available!

Tips on how to replace Shasvastii troops for these new troops will be included in the game.

Xeodron background:

"I have been created to fight against the most powerful champions in the universe. The best scientists from the Ur Hegemonic Civilization have given me the combat skills necessary to destroy the enemy, regardless of who it might be. I'm one of the top models of the Batroid series. I'm a techno-organic creature who was raised to become a specific tool in the service of the Hegemony and its leader: the EI. I'm a top-of-the-line combat operator with advanced tactical skills and great mobility. This combination allows me to cover and dominate the battlefield perfectly. Because of how I use my power, my enemies call me a monster. Citizens of the Hegemony, however, call me a champion. However, no other opinion matters more than the one of my owner and mistress: the EI. The EI orders and I obey her. This is how it has been established, how I have been raised, and therefore how it should be. I have been created for combat. I have been designed for destruction. I'm a weapon of the Ur Hegemony."

Fraacta background:

If you were to ask a Fraacta what their unofficial motto is, she would say, with a savage smirk on her face and a spark in her eye: “Always Careless”. No one can deny that the entire modus operandi of this unit is predicated on wanton recklessness. By definition, the deployment maneuvers of any transorbital drop unit are a dangerous proposition, and airborne troops are regarded as perhaps the most audacious out there. But the all-female drop unit of the Sygmaa Trihedron takes it one step further. I can’t disclose classified information, so here’s an analogy: the Fraacta don’t just dive directly into the deep end of the pool, they dive backwards with their hands tied behind their backs, with the bravado you’d expect from a star stunt performer. When they jump from the vacuum of space into the hell of battle, with only their instincts and the sensory feedback from their drop symbiont as a guide, they feel invincible. While the crackling of their flight instruments still rings in their ears like an unbridled symphony, they are possessed by the certainty that they can achieve anything. There is no question that, with that blend of training and talent, and symbiont gear like that, you can afford the luxury of a little boldness. The Trihedron High Command frowns upon that kind of imprudent behavior, but what can you threaten them with? In their jump symbionts, the Fraacta are like goddesses of evil: something beautiful, and terrible to behold. Something treacherous. Something on edge. Something that must be stopped.

Tips on how to replace Shasvastii troops for these new troops will be included in the game.

This stretch goal will be available for all pledges (CORE, COLLECTOR’S AND/OR DELUXE).

With the unlocking of these two cards, we have unlocked our first Reinforcement Pack: ONYX REINFORCEMENT PACK.

What’s this about Reinforcement Packs? It’s about a repackaging of the Infinity catalog miniatures so you can play them in Infinity Defiance.

I am all in on the Shasvastii, myself, so this Kickstarter is great.

One thing I really like about this is it gives me a chance to use a bunch of Infinity models I have that I wouldn't normally get a chance to see on the table without building a full army. I tend to buy Infinity models that I like and want to paint without any consideration for how they play or using them as part of an army. So, I've got an eclectic bunch of painted Infinity models that I might be able to use in this game already.

It'll probably be all Combined Army too, which I like the designs of, but don't want to commit to. Depending on the prices, I might be convinced to get some reinforcement packs too.

An aditional body for Uma is now unlocked!

Hello again backers!

We keep unlocking stuff for the heroes' miniatures! This time it's an additional body option for Uma, the team's deadliest shooter.

“There’s no bond stronger than that of blood,” Uma Sørensen’s father always said. Family and blood were paramount to Peer Sørensen; he wasn’t the leader of a NKAH cell (Nordiske Krigere ave Heimdall, or Nordic Warriors of Heimdall, a radical ultra-nationalist group from Svalarheima that defends PanOceania’s moral and racial superiority) for nothing. Uma and her little sister Tara were raised hearing those ideas, repeated ad nauseam both in their home and in the paramilitary encampments the group has on the frozen plains of Trollhättan, where their members prepare to defend their ideology through force of arms if needs be. They both spent more time in those camps than they would have liked, getting ready for a supposed confrontation against the whole Human Sphere that their father thought inevitable. And, though they always hated it, both the ideas and the Spartan and combative regime they were subjected to ended up making the words “the apple doesn't fall far from the tree” true. Thus, as soon as they were old enough to leave their father’s home, they both enlisted in the army, for fighting was what their father had taught them, and fighting is what they did best.

Yet while Tara wanted to get as far away as possible from her past, enrolling in the Navy and leaving the planet, her sister preferred to take advantage of the knowledge gained in those encampments. Uma enlisted in Svalarheima’s Winter Force, where the experience acquired on the frozen plains of Trollhättan catapulted her to the Svalarheiman Nisse regiment. There she would serve with distinction for many years until she was recruited by the Indigo units of the PanOceanian Special Operations Command. This assignment took her away from her planet and her past to perform missions all across the Sphere. Nonetheless, when it seemed that Uma had finally found her place, fate would shake her entire world.

During a patrol mission during the Intermediate Blockade of Paradiso, the POS Obsidian Spear of Taema, a frigate on which her sister served, was attacked and boarded by the Combined Army. Though the attack was repelled, the crew suffered many casualties and due to the extreme violence of the assault many crewmen were missing in action. Among them was artillery non-commissioned officer Tara Sørensen, whose body was never found.

This terrible news made Uma re-evaluate her career. Vengeance became the new driving force in her life, and—together with discovering her sister’s fate—the destruction of the Combined Army her main goal. To do so, Uma requested to be transferred to the Strategic Security Division, where she would serve together with the infamous Hexas as attached Indigo officer, in hopes of gaining more information on Tara’s whereabouts if she was alive, or at least of getting the chance to hit the Combined Army as hard as possible if she wasn’t.

Focused on this personal mission, Uma has become an officer as efficient as she is obsessive, always volunteering for any operation that can get her closer to her particular goals. The thing is that, although she doesn’t want to admit it, her father was right: blood bonds are the strongest and ones that Captain Uma Sørensen cannot escape. It is blood that binds her to her sister, and it is blood that this officer wants from the Combined Army.

This stretch goal will be available for the COLLECTOR’S and/or DELUXE pledges.

See you in the next update!

So yea? An alternate part but CB has said you cannot buy extra copies of the hero model so this is basically a throwaway SG. I know Carlos said not to expect much from the SG earlier but this is a really underwhelming campaign even with low expectations. If I could pick up the core box at retail with a standard discount I'd drop out.

It might be a good idea to start contacting retailers to see if your preferred retailer will have enough demand that they'll want to order. https://www.infinitythegame.com/defiance-retail

Monkeysloth its just alternative version. And I like that more. If in hobby Mate, you can find use for extra upper body. Like magnets, blue stuff cast or canibalize other mini and build you own. Fun stuff.

It's not really 2 boxes at the higher pledges. The base core game is 12 models (4 heroes and 8 enemies), and uses cardboard tokens for enemies that you don't get models for. The collectors set is an additional 21 models on top of that so you don't need to use tokens for enemies. These Collectors models are mostly duplictes and alternate sculpts of the 8 enemy models in the core set, but also a few named enemies with unique sculpts. KS backers also get the 5th Haqqislam character as well

All the models in base and collectors sets:

I'm a sucker for the beautiful models, and this looks easy to play, and with plenty of room for future missions, expansions, etc.

Well worth buying in, IMO

It's actually half of the actual model looking at the break down animation. Really kind of odd that CB couldn't just give you the legs too. Modifying metal minis is my least favorite part of this hobby, magnetizing them is also a pain.

I guess my issue with the game is things that would make this more replayable (extra missions and tiles) so far CB has said are post kickstarter if the KSer does as well as they hope. I don't understand that logic if this game won't be sold after the KSer. Plus they said pre-kickstarter you can pick up any infinity model and use it in the game but they haven't addressed that all so far. You think that would be a big selling point. Add that the only existing models they've shown as usable so far require SGs to unlock the cards for and I'm worrying that CB is just planning on dragging out SGs as cards that should just be a optional purchase deck for each faction and token upgrades--which are nice--but aren't needed and don't give you more to play.

I'm tempted, but it's hard for me to justify.

The price is not bad compared to normal Infinity models, especially when you consider all the board-game gear included, but it's a bit high compared to many kickstarter miniature boardgames.

If I liked ALL the miniatures and knew I was going to be able to play the game I'd be in, but as I only like some of the miniatures and I don't know that my friends will be too interested (I feel most of my friends are not really into cooperative boardgames and wargames), so... I dunno. I do like that Haqq mini though, so I'm tempted...

New Teseum Goal unlocked: Custom Reinforcement Tokens!

Hello again backers!

Here we’ve got one of our favorite stretch goals: Teseum Goals. It’s a quality leap for reinforcement tokens.

REINFORCEMENTS

As the mission progresses, the Reinforcements Reserve will accumulate Reinforcements tokens, which can be used by the AI to redeploy previously eliminated Units that have a Respawn value, or to redeploy killed miniatures to Deployed Units that have a Replacements value.

A Reinforcements token is added:

· When a Unit is eliminated (when its last miniature is removed from the board).

· At the end of the Activation of each Character, the player must compare their Character’s g tokens with the value of their Maximum Aggro Attribute. The player must remove from their Character the g tokens that exceed their Maximum Aggro and turn them into Reinforcements tokens that they add to the Reinforcements Reserve.

· At the end of a Round in which no enemy Unit has been activated (only Characters or Allies have been activated).

· When specified during the performance of an Instruction by the AI (for example: Retreat!).

At the end of the Round, check if there are Units that can Respawn:

Respawn. If there are Unit cards in the Available Units deck at the end of the Round, follow these steps to check which Units return to the board:

1. Compare the number of Reinforcements tokens in the Reinforcements Reserve with the Respawn value of the top card of the Available Units deck.

2. If there are fewer tokens than the Respawn value, stop checking.

3. Otherwise, remove as many Reinforcements tokens from the Reinforcements Reserve as the Unit’s Respawn value, place the Unit card in the Deployed Units zone and deploy the miniatures in the space marked for “Respawning” in the mission Instructions. If the marked space is already occupied, the Enemies are placed on the spaces closest to it, starting with adjacent ones.

4. If there are Reinforcements tokens left in the Reinforcements Reserve, go back to step 1 and repeat with the next card on the top of the Available Units deck.

5. If there are no Reinforcements tokens left in the Reinforcements Reserve, finish the check.

Once Units that Respawn have been checked, check among the Deployed Units for those with the Replacements keyword.

You can learn more about this mechanic in the “How to Play” manual and leave any additional question in the comments below.

This stretch goal will be available for all pledges (CORE, COLLECTOR’S AND/OR DELUXE).

See you in the next update!

A new hero joins the Defiance: Trisha N33
Hello again backers!

WE GET UNLOCKED A NEW HERO FOR THE DEFIANCE!

It is another of our Teseum Goals. Thanks for your support!

This is Trisha N33, the ALEPH engineer.

In the realm of law enforcement agencies, there are cases that can determine an agent's entire career no matter how long it is, no matter what he did before or after such a case. This is what happened to Trishar M33, one of the most veteran active Chandra specialist operatives within the SSS who, nonetheless, was unfairly forced into a desk job because of his involvement in a failed operation. Put this way, it sounds terribly arbitrary, but if I added that the name of the operation was Dandelion, all the conspiracy theorists and ALEPH haters would point their fingers at him and demand his head. If you do not fit into any of these categories, the name of the operation will probably not ring a bell. Don’t feel bad about this; it has been many years since, and it’s just a footnote in the history of the SSS.

But the truth is that Operation Dandelion was a real mess, and at the time it was a scandal that put the Administration for Institutional Image, the Subsection's public relations department, up against the ropes for a good while. In short, and without going into much detail, a family from the Bratva, the Russian mob, was involved in the theft of specialized slave AIs in an attempt to build a neural network that could become an advanced AI able to dodge the SSS hounds in Maya. Despite having been detected by Danavas operatives with the OperationS Administration for Communications Surveillance, the operation had to be carried out on Russian sovereign soil, which meant that the SSS would only have an advisory role. Thus, Trishar M33 was sent as a technical assistant with tactical capacity to provide specialist support to the OMON, the Russian spec-ops police unit, which was going to carry out the raid. This Chandra operative stormed in along with the Russian agents and they met with strong armed resistance from the mobsters. At one point, the criminals released a nerve gas and Trishar M33, after assessing the situation at a speed that only an Aspect of ALEPH can achieve, sealed the facilities, preventing the propagation of the gas, but dooming three OMON agents to a horrendous death in order to save the rest of the team. The Russian policemen, who did not take kindly to the use of the gas nor to the death of their comrades, began to execute the mobsters they had arrested, and Trishar M33 had to take action again, confronting the agents to avoid being left with no one to interrogate. The footage of an ALEPH operative confronting the police to save some criminals went viral and was played all over the Sphere, causing the SSS a reputation crisis. Over time, the situation was remedied, the SSS apologized to the OMON and, even though it could not prove the connection of the Russian mob with the Black Hand, it was able to do so with respect to the leak of the operation video. However, Trishar M33 was removed from field operations and reassigned to the Support Subsection for advisory and forensic work.

Thus, this specialist would waste twenty years of his life, until a similar case brought him back to the streets. However, in spite of being the most qualified to solve this new case, the Administration for Institutional Image had not forgotten about this operative. OperationS public relations department did not want his name to tarnish the image of the SSS again, so they demanded that he change his identity before authorizing him to return to work on the field. Personality models of first-generation Aspects such as Trishar M33 were created without a gender mark, so that they could be downloaded into the first available biosynthetic body. In those early moments, the productive capacity of optimized bodies was barely enough to cover the needs of the market and much less that of the SSS, so it had to take whatever was available. For this reason, all the first SSS operatives have neutral personalities capable of adapting to the body assigned to them. Trishar M33 was one of these Aspects, so he had no objection to accepting a change of identity that included a new, upgraded female body, and to taking the name Trishala N33.

And so she was back in action again, just in time for the big gigs, like the last throes of the Second Offensive, with Operation TAGLINE, when she had to provide technical support on the Paradiso front, or the Leviathan attempt by the Equinox techno-terrorist group which sought to clandestinely improve the pseudo-AIs governing Neoterra’s orbital traffic subsystems so that they would become self-conscious under their perverse control. Since then, Trishala N33—“Trisha”, for short—has not stopped for one moment, traversing the Sphere from one case to another, honoring her “Chandra Specialist Operative” denomination, and experiencing more direct action than an OperationS technical expert would normally face. It’s likely that the Administration for Institutional Image officials have her tagged as "automatic volunteer" for any operation that comes up, in the hope of getting rid of her, since they can’t have her buried alive in the Support Subsection workshops. But Trisha doesn’t care, because while emotional expressiveness is not her thing, just like any other first-generation Aspect with a new body and after twenty years behind a desk, this field engineer has a lot to catch up on.

Is the Collector's version better value than the core set? I don't know if I want to invest in this if I end up with a bunch of models I can't play in Infinity.
