So I've finally started to get into Infinity. It's... not proving to be quite as easy as I had thought it would.

Right now I'm trying to familiarize myself with Haqq units using the Infinity Army tool. Basically, I read about a special rule, decide that would be good to have, then try to use the app to filter models by that rule. It's... a bit buggy, but basically works.

While browsing in this way I came across a unit called Mukhtar. The stats and rules look good, however I cannot find any images of the model. Is the model old and discontinued, or new and does not have a model yet? Is there any expectation of the model being released any time soon? What's standard practice for playing a unit who's model doesn't exist: do you just proxy or do you not play the unit at all?

Speaking about Mukhtar: opinions? Tips?

FWIW, if you have a tablet I highly recommend the MayaNet app. It does a good job of compiling a profile so if you can see the specific weapon loadout chosen as a more traditional statline. This is the guy I picked, these are his special rules, this is his attack option, etc. I find Army easier to understand now, but MayaNet really helped me wrap my head around it.

Also, I HUGELY recommend not putting much thoughts into lists until you're really comfortable with the rules. All the statline stuff makes a lot more sense after you've played some games and list building makes a lot more sense once you've gotten a handle on the game structure. I'm generally someone who likes to map out stats beyond reason, but I didn't really appreciate or enjoy Infinity until I gave up on that, put down 300 points of Operation+Beyond, and just played the game with what I was given.

I'll look into Mayanet, thanks for the tips! Truth is that as I examine the profiles I realise that the Red Veil set actually has a lot of what I want, which is very cool.

Hmm. Is there any concept art? I'm curious as model aesthetics are quite important to me. Do we have any idea when it will be released? I will probably proxy until then if it comes to it.

No Mukhtar mini yet, and I have not seen any concept art that I can recall.

This is what is coming in November:

Hulang Shocktroopers (Combi Rifle + Light FT)
Model Color Set: Infinity Shasvastii Exclusive
Model Color Set: Infinity O-12 Exclusive Miniature
Kiel-Saan Covert Assault Unit (Mk12)
Beyond Wildfire Expansion Pack
O-12 D20 Dice Set
Pavel Aleksei McMannus, Spetsgruppa C (Ojotnik)

And December:

Infinity: 0-12 Team Sirius (PREORDER) - CVB282001
Infinity: Haqqislam - Hortlak Jannisaries (Submachine Gun) (PREORDER) - CVB281405
Infinity: PanOceania - Helot Militia (PREORDER) - CVB281212
Infinity: NA2 - Libertos Freedom Fighters (Light Shotgun) (PREORDER) - CVB280743
Infinity: Combined Army - Shasvastii Mentors (Shock Marksman Rifle) (PREORDER) - CVB280697

Maybe sometime next year for the Mukhtar. We get the Hortlak Janissary first. A nice unit, actually.
