Hello All,

I used to get stuff from the Warstore. They are closed now as you all know. I have been trying to figure out which online stores to trust.

I have seen some information about Gamenerdz and Miniature Market.

The reviews on Gamenerdz seem to be mixed and Miniature market appears to have higher rated reviews but fewer items. What do you think? Who do you trust to get discounts miniatures and games from? Are there other online stores that you have had dealings with and recommend?

Thank you for your advice/assistance.

Miniature Market is the first online store I go to. After that, I’ll go to Game Kastle. I’ve heard good things about Noble Knight, but haven’t yet ordered from them. Also, check amazon if you are a prime member. Every now and then they’ll have something for a shockingly low price.

I use Miniature Market all the time - in fact, I made an order there today (Sisters of Battle army box). In general, they are really good about stuff and are top tier boxers - the stuff you get will be packaged tightly and securely.

I've only had one problem with them. I ordered the Walking Dead: All Out War Collector's edition alongside a pre-order for something else - which got delayed a month. By the time the pre-order actually came out, they emailed me and said, whoops, we misplaced your collector's edition and we aren't getting any more, sorry. I was livid, though it turns out the box wasn't that limited and easy to find elsewhere. But I've made 103 orders with them over the past decade and one screw up is pretty good.

Miniature Market used to have these really great deal of the days, but they've replaced it with "The Drop" which is a small price drop every day until all copies allocated are gone - which means you rarely get really good deals on anything other people want. So I don't really go to Miniature Market for good deals - in fact, for some things, like Monsterpocalypse and Infinity, GameNerdz actually has better prices - and GN has free shipping on orders of $75 instead of MM's $100.

I've recently been using GameNerdz more as well. I did my Necromunda Dark Uprising pre-order with them because they had the Conquest starter as a deal of the day (GN has great deals of the day), and it came in the biggest box I've ever seen (literally two boxes taped together), filled with Styrofoam peanuts. My kids still take turns sitting in it. It's their ball pit. There's peanuts all over my house. GN's packing game is not at the same level as MM.

Honestly, I'd use either Miniature Market or GameNerdz interchangeably, depending on the price and availability of what I wanted. Both of them seem to take about the same amount of time for free shipping (about 5-7 days), so there's no clear advantage there either.

As for Amazon, I get stuff there too, but their quality has gone straight to hell the past few years. Things ship late, two-day shipping is more like guidelines, and I've had multiple things arrive damaged beyond repair due to inadequate packing. Once, I ordered a video game and got a crushed box of LEGOs instead. Amazon's employees don't care, Amazon doesn't care, and honestly, if they hadn't run every brick and mortar store in my city out of business, I wouldn't even use them.

MiniatureMarket is okay but I've had things take an abnormally long time with no updates in the past; some months ago I ordered a Flames of War starter set, never got any confirmation that it shipped (took about your usual 8-10 days or whatnot) so I was left wondering if it would ever arrive and ordered a different starter set off eBay which I got within a week.

The order did eventually arrive when it was meant to, but without the shipping confirmation/tracking number, I had no way to tell that it was even on the way.

Another Miniature Marketeer here, though I wasn’t even aware of GamerNerdz.

For a while, MM had stopped selling GW product, they’ve only recently started again. So for a long time I was - and sometimes still do - order my GW stuff from a couple of favorite sellers on e-bay.

It never ends well

I've have Miniature Market forget to email a tracking number several times. Usually, they tell you it shipped but leave it up to the carrier to send you the tracking number - which doesn't always come, or gets stuck in the spam filter. You can email Miniature Market's customer service for tracking numbers.

Starting last month (apparently), your order summary page of your account will have the tracking number and a button to track it. They've always had a button inside the order to track it, but it never worked and they rarely updated it, but starting with my Nov 6th order, it seems like it has been working (before I even got the shipping email).

I was about to recommend the same store. They've consistently been the fastest to ship.

They also have an actual webstore, if you don't want to use eBay.

I see a lot of regular names popping up.

Game Kastle changes their specials pretty regularly. I've grabbed really good deals in the past there, but you need to jump on it quick if you want it. Got a Mantic ForgeFather mega army for 18 a while back for example. It's worth checking regularly. Just not when I'm on the hunt!

Noble Knight is super reliable. Their discounts can be pretty steep when they feel like it (35 dollars for a Dropzone Commander two player starter?!?!) but they're where you want to go if you're after weird old hard to find stuff.

Flipside does tend to be one of the fastest turnarounds for online shops I've seen.

I like Dzur's Treasures on eBay. The prices are a little steeper but they've got reasonable free shipping thresholds and carry a huge variety of very niche stuff.

Folks complaining about long shipping have never ordered from Frontline Gaming. Decided to buy some game mats. I don't expect to see them until Jan some time. I've ordered before and had birthday gifts show up a month later. I have yet to even get a shipping confirmation a d it's been 10 days. I just shrug and wait. Even forge world ships me stuff faster.

My store of choice now a days is Miniature Market... I just wish they had a bit more available. I've been finding I've been gravitating to eBay again. As far as eBay sellers, I have had good experiences with Noble Knight. There was one other I used to order from frequently but I can't remember who.

I've been using Gamenerdz more and more but some lines they don't carry, like Reaper, so I use Miniature Market, Game Kastle and Fantization as well. Fanitization carries some lines that most don't though Game Kastle has started to be like their old selves when their web front was FRPgames and carrying European lines that are smaller again.

They're also the best place to get several paint lines as they get restocks usually twice a month from most manufactures -- though the downside is they'll sell something they currently don't have in stock and you'll just be left waiting until said restock comes in but they have great phone service and you do your paint orders that way and know when stuff is arriving and they'll generally split paint shipments without charging extra shipping.

Have used GameNerdz, Noble Knight, and Miniature Market. I've not had any problems with the first two, and only once with MM out of about ten years. They sent me a free shipping label for the wrong product and then shipped the correct game. Noble Knight has its own webpage, so you don't need to use their eBay store. They'll even tell you will save on shipping if you order directly from them instead of through eBay. Their discounts usually are smaller compared to GN or MM, however.

Noble Knight also has a buyback program, so you can get cash or credit for old stuff. I traded in a lot of Clan War minis a few years back, and mean to do the same with my 3rd ed. Blood Angels.

I've ordered from Noble Knight's Ebay store a couple of times. I have noticed a couple of instances where stuff was on their Ebay store but oddly couldn't find it on their web store.

Noble Knight also sells on amazon at a decent price, great when you have credit there, and I've noticed the stuff isn't on their website as well. Probably an inventory system limitation. If they have the same thing listed in 3 places and it's ordered on one how long does it take to delist everywhere else? Bet it's easier to have Amazon Stock, Ebay Stock and Website stock.

Another chime in here for miniature market and noble knight games. I have used both extensively and have good experience from them. especially finding hard to get items like discontinued minis or terrain they buy back and re-sell.

Also noble knight has really fast shipping. I generally get anything I order from them in a week or less.

P.S. they also stock ESLO terrain love that stuff.

When I was into Infinity, Gamernerdz was my go to, and I never had a problem with them.

For 40K stuff now, I mostly go to my FLGS. I support them so I know they will stay in business. Great place.

Good discounts and fast shipping, from my experience so far.

You can also still find international sellers on eBay, although the way international shipping has skyrocketed in recent years makes it often less of a deal than it once was, particularly since a lot of US stores seem to insist on using couriers these days.

Anyone got a good recommendation for buying paints online in the US?

The big issue is packaging since they'd be forwarded on to Egypt, anyone know a place with both a good selection of Valejo and good packaging?

I recall some paints I got from Burbank's House of Hobbies being packed reasonably well (IIRC, they were rubber banded together and the box had some packing peanuts in it). They also weren't in some oversized box or anything. But I don't think they offer any free shipping options, but I don't know how that will affect the calculus for you.
