Hello all,

News of the Old World returning has steered me back to my fantasy collection, so I thought I would share some pictures of my home brew warhammer quest project I've got going on. Nothing fancy rules wise, just some typical mechanics using d12s. I will be acting as GM for a small group of players that will be guiding an alliance of dwarfs and Stirland state troops in uncovering the cause of a recent zombie infestation in the eastern area of the province closer to Sylvania. Players will have access to special characters such as a Captain of the Watch, a Troll Slayer, some heavily armored Dwarf Warriors, lower level Celestial and Bright wizards, and the option to hire Stirland troops as henchmen as discovered treasure allows.

I'm looking to run maybe 3-4 games tops for the quest, exploring two different 6x4 maps along with the obligatory dungeon or two. Models below are mostly from Fireforge's Forgotten Worlds range that I backed last year. I've just swapped some heads out for others from the empire range. Like everything I do with GW, I prefer to "de-skull" and waterdown some of the sillier details as much as possible, so the more generic look of Fireforge's stuff just feels better to me. The zombies are FF's undead soldiers and undead peasants kits mixed together.

Anyway, not really WHFB per se, but thought this was the best place to post it. Will hopefully keep up with more pictures as the project progresses.

A forest gives way to an open steppe in the eastern province of Stirland. In the distance lies a graveyard- Its statue of Morr stoically watching over its resting occupants that are soon to be roused from their slumber. In the center stands a monument to Sigmar, erected and maintained in the belief that its presence will ward off the whatever foul and wretched creatures may be watching from the east.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the comments. Played our first quest on Saturday.

As the summer months of the Stirland steppes begin to cool to autumn, a travelling Light order Wizard arrives in the village of Enzesburg. Rumors of the dead walking have attracted a number of mercenaries and lower level wizards seeking payment for security. Eager to refine his spellcraft, the wizard hires two local state troops and a dwarf of Zhufbar to journey eastward. Their first destination is Tor Ramsauen, the ruins of a Noble's tower who was believed to have succumbed to dark sorcery while isolated in the wilderness.

The party made its way across the map and into the tower's crypt (dungeon tiles still WIP), fighting off zombies and ghouls along the way. A Stirland spearman was lost, but the surviving member brought back an idol of Hysh (allows the wizard to cast one spell for free per game) and 15 gold crowns- a meager haul. The party returned to the Inn of the Crooked Cane to rest and refit. Hopefully more adventurers can be recruited for next time's trip eastward.
