Hello, i'm planning to start an ogre army, and the meatfist tribe seems most appealing. There's not much that I would change in this list, as every unit has it's purpose, but any constructive critique are welcome.

Tyrant 160 (general: food for though, relic: gut-plate of ghur, big name: fateseeker)
Butcher 140 (spells: ribcracker, voracious maw)
Slaughtermaster 140 (spells: blood feast, rockchomper)
Ogor Gluttons (12, paired clubs) 400
Ogor Gluttons (12, paired clubs) 400
Ironguts (8) 440
Iron blaster 120
Iron blaster 120
Gorger 80

Total: 2000 / leaders (3) / artillery(2) / battleline (3)

The plan is to deploy into line (ironguts in the middle, flanked by gluttons and ironblasters) while leaders deploy behind them. The lonely gorger is a distraction unit, capturing objectives or forcing the opponent to deal with it. At first round, tyrant uses his command ability to give ironguts battleshock immunity. At later rounds characters buff ironguts and gluttons.

So, what do you guys think? I'm thinking that i'll have a decent list with loads of wounds, some artillery fire support, and Wizards to cast/unbind spells.

I would split the ironguts into units of 4, at that point they are unlikely to need to worry about battleshock (bravery 9 in combat, and they can only lose 3 models before the unit is dead anyways) and 4 is enough to do the damage you need. Better to use bellowing tyrant on a unit of gluttons.

With their 2" range ironguts can swing from the second rank, meaning you can put them behind a rank of gluttons and swing over their heads while the less valuable ogors get attacked; a tactic to keep in mind if you are on the defensive.

Overall it seems like you have the right idea, hope it goes well!

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

Only suggestion that I would make is to go for Bloodgullet over Meatfist.

-You have two casters so you can get more from them with two spells each than a single potential mortal wound on charges.

-You'll also get more mileage out of 6" pile-ins than you will over an extra potential command point.

-Wound re-rolls is better than extra gulping bite attacks

-AOE heals over a single until re-rolling saves, but this one is less of a straight upgrade.

Hey guys, thanks for reply. The reason for 8-man ironguts unit is that when slaughtermaster casts bloodfeast on them, they'll benefit more from it. I'll have to consider about bloodgullet, that is a very good suggestion, and would perform better.

I concur that if you're running 2 Butchers then Bloodgullet look better than Meatfist.

Of course you can easily play some games with both to compare, unless you were specifically want to paint the official scheme for the faction you use.

I usually paint my models in official themes, but in this case, I was thinking about blue/white colour scheme, that I could play as any tribe. I'm still wondering that if snow mixture (valhallan blizzard) would look on their bases..

Paint them up as you wish and play how you want. As you are already leaning towards a non-specific paint scheme, I'd definitely roll with that. It lets you play however you want without any potential complaints from TFG.
