This is a thread to brag about what you have accomplished in 2019!

I feel like this was one of my most productive years ever for painting and game design.

1. I painted over 140+ models this year. I think this is a record for me.
- I painted tons of Blood Bowl (6 teams and an Ogre)
- I painted two gangs (18?) Gangsters from Copplestone Casting
- Painted a bunch of Victrix Macedonians for Ancients gaming
- An Inquisitor 28mm Warband

2. I managed to get a wargame published by Osprey
- Sold 2 more pitches
- 1 game moved to Wargame Vault
- 2 added to WIP on the blog
- 2 new concepts in Pre-production

I also managed to play about 12 games this year, or 1 a month. Not bad for me.

How about you? Feel free to brag and add pictures to this thread!

I didn't get as much painting done as I wanted, but I got a lot done, and I did some high quality work (for myself at least) instead of just cranking out the masses.

I didn't get nearly as much gaming done as I wanted. One thing I'm proud of though was we had a goal to break into the top 20 teams in ATC, and we did that. Considering that 2 years ago we were I believe 3rd from bottom, I'm very proud of our growth in those regards, and looking at climbing even higher this next year.

Thanks to your blog, one of my goals is to add a similar tracker to my own blog to help me keep track of minis painted, games played, reviews written, etc.

Kudos to you!

I'm not sure on my number of painted minis this year, but it must be over 200. I've done just over 100 Deathwatch models, 40 CSM models, a bunch of Primaris Marines, some Deathguard and Nurgle daemons, some Necrons and a bunch of other stuff. It's been another productive year of painting for me, which I hope I can replicate next year.

Maybe I should run a blog as well so I can keep a proper tally.

I painted 103 Models so far this year (I still have 2 weeks where I can MAYBE pound out another 5.

The minis vary across games, mostly D&D minis, some terrain and various AoS and WHFB armies.

I hope to beat that record next year!

My goal was to cut down my unpainted pile this year, and while I made some significant strides... I kinda picked up more projects than I intended and didn't get as far down as I'd like. Anyway, major accomplishments. Have to estimate models, but should be close:

Warmachine:
- Crucible Guard Army (58?)
- Warriors of the Old Faith (Menoth) added to Khador (19?)
- New Wolves of Winter models (7?)
- Riot Quest stuff (6?)

Malifaux: (70?)
- All Guild models painted

Infinity: (27?)
- Tunguksa painted
- StarCo finished

Batman:
- Painted up the Teen Titans and most of Batfam (13?)

Star Wars Legion:
- Got through the Imperial Rogue One content (32?)

Marvel: Crisis Protocol:
- Everything released (14?)

Monsterpocalypse (53?)
- 16 buildings
- 7 protector monsters
- 30 protector units

Age of Sigmar:
- Full Sylvaneth army (105?)

Warcry:
- Gitz Warband (14?)

40k:
- All the assassins (3?)

421? I usually aim for a model a day, so not bad.

Hmmm...

1) I got over my excitement for 40K and have more or less boxed the armies, so on the plus side...that'll save me heaps of money next year!
2) After 17 years and dozens of versions, I finally figured out my dungeon crawl and that project is coming along nicely (early playtesting beta more or less)
3) Finally acquired the stupid foam crate heaps I've been wanting for several years!
4) Made more foam hills finally, something I'd put off for a long time.
5) Met my meager goal of 120 minis painted (10 per month is my goal).
6) Have stuck to my "sell some to buy some" goal.
7) After 30+ years there is finally a good Robotech line of miniatures so my Robotech game plan can begin anew.

Beyond that it's been a somewhat quiet year.

I finished my Roman army, whose work had carried over into 2019.

Did some commission painting for American War of Independence marines.

Did some commission painting for Samurai.

Got a lot of Bushido miniatures painted when the new edition came out.

Painted some Burrows and Badgers animals.

Lastly I've just started on the army of Mithridates the Great. The first few models are done and I'll probably spend the first few month of 2020 completing it.

Not sure how many models I painted, but I doubt I got anywhere close to the numbers in this thread.

Wow, some serious painting accomplishments in this thread!

For me, 95 minis painted this year, which by my standards is stellar (especially as two were 40k scale titans).

Got a lot of games in too - our campaign rolls on, even if I’m wildly behind on posting battle reports...

Easy E,

What was the Osprey Game, if you can tell us?
Also, what is the story on those cool vehicles in the bottom pic?
Are they 3d printed or something? They look different to me for some reason.

I played 42 games in total for the year but that includes every single board game play, game of CCGs or anything remotely game-ified.
It averages to 1-2 times per month for actual miniature wargaming.

This is the first year in awhile when I don't have all my stuff painted.
I hate to play with unpainted stuff (while I also hate to paint) so I usually speed paint to get things to tabletop standard.
But this past 6 months I've really just not made the time.

Fantastic thread!

I've not had the most productive year (that probably goes to 2018?), but I've got a lot done, nonetheless! I feel like in the last 12 months I've managed to keep pushing myself, and am a lot more confident with a few more techniques. I painted a real variety of stuff, and had a blast doing so, and am planning on trying to set myself a few targets, as I'll be a bit more geographically settled this year.
Other hobby related stuff - I've slowed my spending down a lot! 2018 was a pretty indulgent year, and my backlog is far, FAR too large. I'm hoping to keep on track in 2020, and buy almost nothing, and focus on hobbying through the gray hordes instead.
I did a absolute BUTTLOAD of modelling. Seriously. So Much. Built terrain, built an nearly complete Nurgle 40k army, finished building my templars kits. Learned to magnetize custodes. Learned that you really should never magnetize custodes, they're a right pain to magnetize. Built and converted some rad-sick Sengokudan Orlocks.

Painting wise, I've had great fun. These are pretty much all of the minis I've painted to completion. Not quite as impressive a number as I might hope, but I'm satisfied with my work.

I'm hoping to slog through my templars some more, finish up my inquisition stuff here, and, If I'm a really good McBogus, finish those pesky Orlocks, too. Here's to 2020!

I added some 40 models to my Black Legion with the release of Abbadon and new CSM and Havoc models. I also painted practically everything in Primaris line that currently exists save several HQ, non-easy-to-build Aggressors and Inceptors.

I have painted extensive (50 or so Models) kill teams for Orks and Genestealer Cults. I also painted smaller kill teams of one or two kits for Dark Eldar, Gray Knights, Tyranids, Tau and Imperial Guard.

I have also painted enough terrain to create 3 densely covered Kill Team boards of Sector Mechanicus, Deathworld Forest and Warcry terrain. I even can throw in an Alter of Skulls and a 3d printed plasma coil.

Finally, I painted 40 Chaos Warriors, 10 Chaos Knights and a couple of Sorcerers for Age of Sigmar.

I published Men of Bronze in 2019 in the Osprey Wargaming series. I am finishing the draft on another Ancients game for Osprey this year, so publish early 2021 that will focus on the Wars of the Roman Republic. Next year I will be finishing the draft of an Aeronef game for flying battleships that will publish in 2022. I am pretty excited.

The vehicles are paper templates that I designed and built for a Helga APC and a Ragnarok Battle Tank. You can find all of my templates :

They include armored cars, tankettes, Ragnaroks, cargo carriers, AA platforms, and some other favorites. When I was low on money but heavy on time I made about two companies worth of tanks plus support. I should really get some updated pictures of them.

2019 turned out to be another pretty crappy year life wise, but I got some good hobbying done.
I got a large number of evil Byzantines painted for my Dungeons and Dragons games, which was cool as they are the major antagonists. But then my enthusiasm to paint dudes for D&D declined and I got excited about making tiles.

So the main thing I managed to do this year was sculpt and then cast a set of interlocking dungeon tiles with spherical magnets inside so that they always magnetically "click" together and hold their layout. I think they look really cool, and I am really happy with them. Haven't used them as much as I would like due to our game moving out of the dungeon again but still chuffed with the work and I am sure I will use them again soon.

When I finished with them, I decided I wanted to finally bite the bullet on my Dark Ages terrain, partly inspired by the fact that my D&D players had got themselves a base and we were likely to be doing a seige scenario. So I got to work building this awesome scale model celtic ring fort, which can double as a Motte and Bailey with my Renedra keep replacing the celtic huts. This was a pretty mammoth task that kept me busy.

Then I got very busy in work, but have managed to make a forest and some nice craggy hills to go with this so I have a basic terrain set up for fantasy wargames again for the first time in ages!

Right at the end of the year I had a burst of energy and painted an entire start collecting Demons of Nurgle in one go, as well. A lot fewer models than I had planned, but a lot more scenery than I had expected. So I think it was a good year overall!

2019 was a good year for me, both hobby wise and career wise. something that impacted both was getting a promotion which required a move from Baltimore (amazing gaming scene) to central Georgia (much less so). Still, I've had time to build, paint, and sell down my collection. I've also engaged in buying some lots just to part out, sell enough to break even or even profit, and keep the stuff I could use. Overall, my unpainted cache has probably gotten bigger, but I've made huge progress on most of my active projects.

Painting wise, I painted almost 300 total models, including a complete Warpath Enforcers Army, the Blackstone Fortress core game, about 100 IG infantry, 15 IG tanks, 25 stands of Epic Eldar, The Vanguard half of shadowspear, five more scouts, two reaper models, and the guild ball miners box.

I resuscitated my long dormant hobby blog, so if you want to see pictures of the above, click here: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/675393.page

My goal for 2020 is to keep the hobby blog going strong, to paint a model a day (366 in a leap year!), and to paint substantially all of my models for all of my Imperium armies. Gonna be a big ask!

Fun thread!

I had a good hobby year. I decided to reboot my painting and used AOS a new game (for me) to break out of my painting rut. Tabletop Minions introduced me to the wet palette and I watched many Duncan Rhodes videos. Going back to basics was great and I am now enjoying painting again. I also improved my hobby space to include better light. My hobby tally is something like:

AOS:

20 x Liberators
10 x Retributors
4 x Fulminators
3 x Vanguard Raptors and 3 x Aetherwings
Vandus, Astreia and Gavriel
Knight Venator, Knight Incantor, Knight Herald, Lord Relictor

1500 points of Blades of Khorne (60ish models)

Turning to 40K, I painted:

30 Catachans
Cypher
15 Tartaros Terminators
10 Tactical Marines (Mk III armour)
10 Devastators
1 Razorback
2 Drop Pods

For Team Yankee I painted up:

10 Leopard 1s
5 M113s
4 ADATS

Gaming wise I attended four 40K tournaments, one AOS tournament and one Team Yankee tournament. I averaged one game of 40K a week, with less frequent AOS and TY.

My goal for 2020 is to build a 2000 point Dark Angels 30K-style army for 40K.

All you have to do is fire three rounds a minute, and stand

All of the core box of Blackstone Fortress and the Escalation expansion villains.
Killteam Rogue Trader with double Starstriders.
Viable table’s worth of terrain.
Maelstroms Edge Karists.
What I own of the Imperial Assault villains.
Chaos Cultists.
Star Wars Legion GCW era starter painted, still need 3 bases.

And the last bits of a few older projects were done as well. Almost hit my goal of 365 figures or sets of scatter terrain but semi-last minute Christmas gifts ate up December so only at 341 right now. Goal of painting more than I buy was also a success as I only bought 122 figures.
