Finally got this one done today, almost a year after I assembled it - and with hindsight, I wish hadn't gone with the faceplate, but oh well. I tried using cool vs warm contrasts a bit more purposefully here, hence the blue tint on the rocks.

How did you find the cleanup and working with it? I’ve almost bitten the bullet on that model numerous times. How big is it compared to a current Bloodthirster?

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

That reminds me, I meant to take a comparison picture... here you go.

The models are about the same height, but that's only because of the King of War's pose - he's a good bit beefier than the GW Bloodthirster. If you're thinking about playing him as a BT, you'll have a problem with the base dimensions because it's 100mm round, i.e. you can't just make an adapter for it because the BT's is 120x92.

I made a pretty lengthy review for Youtube back when I originally got the model that'll show you the parts fit and where I ended up having to fill gaps, but for some reason I filmed this after I'd done the cleanup, so it won't show you that. It was fairly minimal, though, especially for a resin model - the injection gates are in places where they're easy to remove, not like some Finecast and Forgeworld models where they're inside the mouth and other ridiculous places. And then there's just some flash, but it's the paper thin kind of flash that you can basically pull off with your hand and then scrape away the mold line that's left. It's a complex kit, obviously, but I didn't find it particularly difficult to work with. Certainly much easier than any resin model from GW that I've done.

I'll second that! I was amazed at how clean and easy to build it was. The only hard part was working out how it attached to base. Most parts are shaped to fit together, but where the foot meets the base is a bit confusing until you have built the model and put the axe into the base.

I also found that was the one thing that maybe just didn't quite fit. It wasn't a huge problem or anything - I needed to get some putty in there to get it to stick together and there's a bit of a gap now, but you don't notice it because, uh, it's exploding rocks and there's supposed to be gaps.

Anyway, this is one of three Creature Caster models I've built so far, and they've all been like this. easy cleanup, excellent parts fit.
