I just played one demo battle and now are assembling my Wrath and Rapture models and reading unit's booklet few rules interactions had raised me some questions.

Karanak states that he can summon Flesh Hounds if he gets within his quarry once per battle. It is 5 Flesh Hounds. Yet, Flesh Hounds themselves can take Gore Hound for every 5 units of themselves. I assume that you can't summon pack together with their pack leader as rules specifically states to summon 5 Flesh Hounds?

Second thing, if I do summon these units, there is nowhere stated that these things are ought to be part of my army. I'm not sure how army lists are being made, but aren't army points are only supposed to be there to start battle with? I mean, I'm not summoning those Flesh Hounds from my reserves like I would be with Deep strike mechanics for example. These units are written like they are free and coming as a bundle with Karanak. Also, in a booklet it is written as "add it to your army", so I can summon them to my army over my point limit.

"If the path to salvation leads through the halls of purgatory, then so be it."

Death Guard = 728 (PL 41) and Space Marines = 831 (PL 50)
Slaanesh demons = 460
Khorne demons = 420
Nighthaunts = 840 points Stormcast Eternals = 880 points.

Summoning costs no points. They are literally free units you put on the table. Summoned units are part of your army but are not part of any Battalion and do not gain any benefits from Battalions.

As for the 1 unit of 5 Flesh Hounds I would say you can take one as a Gore Hound as it is a Flesh Hound model. I would recommend talking it over with your opponent about it before the game if you are not sure.

I believe the unit entry for fleshhounds states 1 in 5 may be a gorehound, which means you can still upgrade one in a unit of 5 flesh hounds.

You use Karanak, summon your 5 flesh hounds, option on their warscroll says 1 in 5 of the flesh hounds in a unit may be a gorehound, so pick one as you summon it to be that flesh hound who is the unit's gorehound and go from there!

Although I do agree with Hotdog, talk it through with your opponent beforehand.

Thank you for explanation. Gorehounds do not have unique model on their own?

Believe there is one in the instruction booklet which says it is the one designed to be, but they're all flesh hounds first, and any may be chosen to be the Gorehound if you wish to. "1 in 5 can be a Gorehound
