What does Warhammer sound like? We're sure you have some thoughts – so discuss them below, and come back tomorrow for an answer…

Could be a return of Warhammer themed music a-la Bolt Thrower, but we'll see.

Could this per chance be something akin to the "Weapon Sound effect" thing they did like a decade ago?

Would be weird to use a band as the promo/teaser photo for weapon sound effects. The band implies music.

She looks exactly like she is just launching into "The Hills are alive... With the Sound of Warhammer!" to me!

Now I'm picturing sister squads advancing to "Doe a deer..." And thinking what the ecclesiarchy version of Favourite Things might be. I might need to go and lie down now.

..... I admit that when playing Dawn of war and click on the cannoness and she says "witchcraft heresy and mutation!" I ALWAYS find myself saying "... these are some of my favorite things!"

I doubt it, as some of the music they play at WHW won't be licenced to them, like the LotRs soundtrack.

Sisters singing when they go to war must sound a bit like this I expect:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXFSK0ogeg4

"Our fantasy settings are grim and dark, but that is not a reflection of who we are or how we feel the real world should be. [...] We will continue to diversify the cast of characters we portray [...] so everyone can find representation and heroes they can relate to. [...] If [you don't feel the same way], you will not be missed"

We're supposed to be getting the full trailer for Angels of Death in January.

My guess is we're going to get community articles leading up to it as a sort of "behind the scenes" preview.

The first of these will be the soundtrack, which of course will be available to buy......

Quite possible.

Remind me, when they recently introduced their new media studio during event coverage on Warhammer Community, was that specifically an animation team? Or more general media. Even for the former they obviously need sound work, but I can't help but get the impression that under the new management GW is finally ready to leverage their IP wherever they can.

It could be a simple as them branching out into thematic music without it being tied in with an animated series.

Nope, all her texts are prose. Can't sing that!

But yeah, she's always been an orator in my mind. It would have been cool to get a new Sister in their character lineup that's actually singing or leading a choir or something. Given that even the least of the Imperial faithful are expected to sing war hymns when they go to battle, a dedicated Sister that visually represents that would have been cool. Oh well, maybe in the next codex.

I must admit I bought the Space marine game soundtrack and still listen to it regularly when painting so if this is any good (if that's what it is) I will probably do the same...

GW has finally decided to hire an 80s power/heavy/death metal band? (or 4 or 5 so we can cover all aspects of metal). :!

This needs emphasised. It's one of those rare soundtracks that genuinely captures the spirit of the subject of the game, rather than just being generic Le Epic Trailer Muzak.

GW could do a lot worse than hiring the guy who did that and the bloke who worked on Vermintide's OST to churn out loads of thematic music for various places and factions.

My guilty pleasure, every now and again, is listening to the Chaos Gate soundtrack!

Additionally, one of the media files is the sound of a Cultist exploding.

Love that game.

Yup, another one that "got" the setting. I still catch myself humming the songs occasionally - a remake of that with modern techniques and without the terrible late-90's-CD audio compression would be awesome.

I thought the sound of Warhammer was that curious background whining sound?

Or is that just the sound of Chaos

A picture of a model each from two AoS armies, two 40k armies and a crossover army would be an odd way of teasing Emprah's Kiddies.
