Hey guys I was getting ready to paint up some of my friends drones and there's a weird one that I don't recognize. If you guys could give me a hand that would be great, thanks!

It's a regular old marker drone bottom piece.
I think you're mostly referring to that Antenna? I'm pretty sure it comes in the stealth suit box.

Pretty much. Other marker drones have the camera on the right, which this one does, plus the marker light on the other side. This one has a vane instead. He built it long ago and we both conceded to knowing what it is

Yeah its a wierd kit bash. But its got the marker drone bottom bit.

As mentioned, it's the Stealth Suit set's Markerlight Drone.  This boxed set contains 3 multi-part plastic XV25 Stealth Suits and a markerlight drone.
That kit is fairly old, having come out when the book swapped from "Codex: Tau" to "Codex: Tau Empire". The lower one is the way all the newer kits have their Markerlight Drones:

Looks like a full kitbash to me to.match the stealthsuit drone. The "camera" bit looks a lot lime a trimmed down sensor from a crisis suit, the thing on the other side is an aerial from a crisis suit. The top aerial.might be legit though.
It's a good.match though, or did the original.marker drone just hijack those crisis bits?
