So I needed a break from painting blue things and as Necromunda was my all time favourite GW game I decided to get stuck into Necromunda: Dark Uprising.

The plan is to get the scenery painted up first (as I can use it for Kill Team/40K) and then get one of each gang painted up to start with.

So apologies for the huge photo dump but here is the progress so far with the scenery.

I have shied away from the overly weathered look, mainly because I am rubbish at it.

I love those classic Necromunda colours. The whole thing is very impressive. Really nice job.

Looks excellent. Bet if you played in a dark room and used some mood lighting(like small battery powered tea light candles) it would really set the tone of the grim dark hive.

They're looking good. I think they have the right amount of worn look to them, they looked used but also maintained, which is a good look to me

Cheers everybody. I don't have a huge update as I am finishing the last of the single walls and they all look pretty much the same.

The Necromunda decal sheet is very cool though so thought I would post a pic:

Other than that I have magnetised the columns and walls and am planning to get the pipes and doors started this weekend.

If the UK weather will hold off long enough for me to do any priming..... last weekend the paint was coming out of the can sideways and apparently this weekend won't be any better.....

Another small update. Sadly in between work and the terrible UK weather I've not been able to get any more priming done so made a start on one of the doors.

Very WIP right now, was just sketching in to see how it looked.

Your terrain looks like it would be a blast to play on. Nice work, I would definitely feel immersed in the game playing on that terrain!

Thanks King Thor. I've not managed to get any games in on it yet but looking forward to getting it all set up.

I need to get a couple of gangs painted up but for now I might use the scenery for some Kill Team.

Cheers CB.

I managed to get the rest of the doors done over the weekend so that's now all of the doors, columns and walls done, plus 4 floor tiles. Now the floor tiles are finally back in stock I will need to do another 3 sets (12 tiles...) to get it up to a 4x4.

For now though the doors, columns and walls from the first set are done. Just the stairs, pipes, barricades and platforms to go.

Cheers chaps.

The numbers on the terminals are actually decals.

The Enforcers decal sheet has their numbers in black and white so you get a spare set of each depending on your paintjob, so I commandeered the white ones.

I just glazed over the top to match it in with the screens.

I shamelessly stole this idea from another group but sadly can't remember the name of the guy that did it first.

And actually it is a bit Star Wars as well, hadn't noticed until now.

That’s excellent work. I’ve a zone mortalis set the forge world one. Adding up the cost of the current plastic GW bits and pieces the old forge world tiles were excellent value for money! Makes a change from feeling ripped off by FW.

I know exactly what you mean, I'm regretting not getting the FW ones now....

HI everybody,

A quick update, working from home now has the advantage that I get more painting done which is at least one silver lining.

I've spent this week getting all the "add on" bits done before moving onto the stairs and platforms.

At this rate though I should have the first set of scenery completed by the end of this week and next week i will make a start on the gangs.

For now though here's what I've managed to get done over the last few days:

Plasma conduits

Water tank (6 of these but I ran out of magnets...)

Lift

Terminals - all 6 now finished

Agree, the green terminals are lovely. The space invaders score wins it for me though!

Cheers guys.

The green on the terminals is actually a P3 paint called Necrotite Green.

It's a lovely, vivid green.

I then shaded the bottom of the screens by glazing down with a mix of Coelia Greenshade + Lahmian Medium.

I then re-glazed with Necrotic Green to smooth out the blends as best I could and then glazed in the highlights at the top of the screen with a mix of Necrotic Green + Flash Gits Yellow.

Then applied the decals as normal and once dry hit the top half of the screen with a very thinned glaze of Necrotic Green to take the edge off the white.

Then glazed the entire screen with Lamenters Yellow which smooths it all together but also brightens the green so it almost looks like it's glowing.

On the home straight now, managed to get the platforms done this weekend.

The photos haven't come out well (the metal areas are more heavily weathered in real life) but will get more once I start putting it all together.

So just the stairs and handrails to go before I move on to some gangs.
