So I'm just getting into Renegades & Heretics after having played monofaction Iron Warriors for a bit, mostly because I think artillery and tanks are good fun and converting models for Chaos is my favorite part of the hobby. Feedback wise, I'm open to anything. Planning on taking something along these lines to a small tourney. I think I have my bases covered, with the squads of cultists for objectives, the marauders for pesky characters, and the plagueburst crawlers as frontliners with their flamers. Also want to run the minotaur up front since it has the lovely combo of Steel Behemoth *and* a 5++, so I want to throw it into melee as harassment. Thoughts?

Do you think you've got enough artillery? Is this enough dakka?

On a serious note, why not a Death Guard Daemon prince? Give you a bit of psychic and a better support for the PBCs. Also, I presume the Renegade Commander is the warlord, and that the trait would be Inspiring Leadership - so you get the covenant. I wonder whether it would be better to get a DP and make him the warlord with Arch-Contaminator - would be a force-multiplier for the PBCs, and you don't appear to have very much in the way of renegade infantry, so the convenant seems hardly worth it.

I really like the theme for this army. Not sure how competitive it would be, but I wish you luck with it!

Do you know what your sin is, Malcolm Reynolds?
Ah hell, I'm a fan of all seven.
But right now, I'm gonna have to go with wrath.

Oh that's an interesting point. I think I picked the chaos lord as I figured I could hide him from sniper LOS behind the PBCs, but having some psychic (smite at the very least) might be pretty helpful. I'm gonna test that out, thanks.

If you don't need DG strats, make him a Chaos Daemons Nurgle DP, and give him the spell which heals D3 wounds to friendly
nurgle Daemon units (Fleshy Abundance I think) - make the PBC even tankier, but then you give up Arch-Contaminator...

Honest answer, there is no point in an enforcer when you don't field blobs of infantry.

The bombard is sadly meh.

As someone that owns and uses vanquishers, don't bother if you go for effectiveness, even the exterminator variant with 8 autocannon shots is better at it.

I'd honestly reccomend to get rid of the wyvern, aswell, and go and invest into heavy mortar batteries. (alternatively the griffon is a cheaper wyvern, it's also a heavy mortar which is just in general imo better against most targets.)

Generally, there is a primer around for R&H.

GW:"Space marines got too many options to balance, therefore we decided to legends HH units."
Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?"
Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?"
GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!"
Chaos players: Guess i stop playing or go to HH.

I wasn't particularly tied to the enforcer, so if it's not worth it at this amount of infantry then that's 30 points for elsewhere. Bummer to hear that about the bombard though, I love the model. What's the catch on that one? Also, would a hydra be worth taking over the wyvern, or are mortars that good?

There's no point in carriage batteries, due to them costing more for less compared to a basilisk

You could always use them as basilisks. They look far better

I've had better luck using the carriage batteries with traitors. I dont like the baslisks being bracketed. If it gets destroyed you have a few left over guardsmen. But I'd say the choice for those over the basilisk isn't a major decision. honestly i was even thinking about it may be better just to run the basilisk and take 3 more mortar weapons teams or 3 autocannon teams

R&H heavy weapons squads are everything but effective sadly atm.
Thanks to IG getting more buffs and therefore the mortar getting a hike (that we got for reasons aswell even though we neither have the buffs nor traits to get mortars that effective) if you want to go effective just use as many stubbers as possible in a squad.

I honestly just dont bother anymore. If there has been one thing needed to be pushed hard by GW, its traitor guard. Its BS how they've done traitors. I dont understand why they make traitor guard at every measurement, weaker than loyalists. Most traitor guardsmen in stories are very recently traitors..because they most likely never make it past that first conflict.

Fingers crossed we get some better R&H rules when they put out the new IA
