Im thinking about using a unit of Stormboyz in my Ork force but I noticed the Stormboyz box doesn't come with provisions for a Boss Nob despite the codex allowing for one. What do you think the best way to build a Stormboyz Boss Nob dual wielding Killsaws?

thanks!

My ‘go to’ method to produce an Ork Nob is to use spacers. Those round projections on sprue are fine. Cut off some so you end up with small discs, glue one to each arm joint of the model, then attach the arms. The Boy is now bulkier. Cover the join with armour/fill with putty & profit. For added height, cut off the legs at the boot top, insert spacer and re-attach boots. Fill with putty and the Boy is taller.

The head is usually bigger on the Nob, so add a spare Nob head, or us the iron jaw’ from the Boyz kit.

For twin kill saws, I’d use two ‘chain choppa’ from the Boyz kit.

And, of course, add a Back Banner for the ultimate in Nob accessories!

Using arms (plus spacers and a bit of greenstuff) and a head from the Nobz kit bulks up a Stormboy enough to make it nobby. There's one Killsaw in the Nobz kit but if you want two you're gonna need to either double up that bit with some conversion work, or go rummaging around in the Meganobz kit.

I put my boyz on 25s and nobz on 32s to make them stand out.

I use the rocket feet body and stick control arms to build my stormboyz nob.

thanks for the advice all!

I think ill try to use some killsaws from the meganobz kit assuming they can be made to fit somehow.

Not to try and pour a scorn bucket on how anyone does their hobby, but if you go this route, I hope you like your models falling over.

My solution was to give him the weapons mounted on arms, the cap with the metal jag on the front (going to paint that silver to look like an Officer cap) and the rokkit pack Grot with the grenade hanging onto the top of his rokkit pack.

Sounds like a plan - glue 1p or similar to the underside of the base if you have problems keeping them from falling over.

Hasn't been an issue so far, but never a bad plan with tall models so you can have them on hills and the like more easily.

All mine came with 25mm bases so I thought falling over meant "working as intended".

Remember kids, Games Workshop needs you more than you need them.

You could ebay one of the old-school metal Stormboy Nobs. Or, just take a normal Nob and a couple spare missiles from a Valkyrie/Manticore to make a Jetpack for the Nob.

I ended up making a boss nob by doing a bit of kit bashing between a Nobz kit and a my Stormboyz kit. He's got a choppa in his right arm and his left arm is the Cybork Killsaw. I even managed to find a spot on the rokkit pack to fit his little Nob banner. To get the rokkit pack to fit on his back I used a bit of extra material from a spru sheet.

He isn't anything amazing but Im happy with the results.
