You didn't talk much about it during the report, but how was the Vortex Beast?

We've played 1 game with 1KSons so far, and really it was a spearhead with a Sorcerer on Disc, a Forgefiend and a pair of Vortex Beasts. We found them to be really weird, although, as I said, it was our first game.

How do you think it performs?

Yeah it didn't get chance to do much, the one thing it did is increase the AP of the Maulerfiend, which possibly made a bit of a difference. It does feel a bit weird, it's Powers are fairly tame and it has a mediocre melee profile, but in a pinch it would only take a couple of simple buffs and suddenly it's pretty mental- diabolic strength and a self-AP buff suddenly give it 15 S9 AP-2 attacks.

I use in the next report and it was more useful. Overall I think I quite like it, for being relatively cheap and having a choice of buffs as well as some MW output. If it gets targeted I'm ecstatic as it's one of the least important things in my army.

I like it as part of my trio of Duplicity beasties (with the Defiler and Maulerfiend) which can threaten a backfield teleport at any time; I'm probably going to use it again tonight

I look forward to the next report. Your stuff is always fun, and I'm the type of person who can't stand video reports.

The Vortex Beast is such a cool model that I just have to keep willing it to be good.
