Hi all,

Starting a Kill Team with IF and I've got three termies and two intercessors. I've decided to go with the classic 3rd co. red shoulder pads.

I'm not as confident as to what to do with the helmets in terms of heraldry.

Termies are supposed to be veterans, right? Would they have white helmets ? Would the sergeant have a red helmet with a white trim down the middle?

(yes yes I know one can do whatever they like, but I happen to like and enjoy such little details!).

Check this, never really noticed the helmet colours on IF.

Contemporary Imperial Fists generally don't use helmet colors to denote rank. You can do it since it's part of the Codex Astartes and Imperial Fist kinda sorta supposedly follow it to the letter, but if you follow the general portrayal GW gave them over the decades it's just not a thing.

Notably their Index Astartes article back in the day had a Horus Heresy era Marine with red and white helmet.

I think the main issue might be a white helmet on a yellow background would be a bit lost. A darker grey might look quite good.though.

For the sergeant, the red helmet with white stripe would work
