New to 40k, never wargames before. This army would be mostly to play casually against a couple friends. We're starting at 500 points and increasing the point limit by 250 every couple months.

My friends armies are:

Orks withba warboss, a blob of 30 boyz and a weird boy with da jump and warpath.

Space Marines consisting mostly of intercessors with a librarian.

Drukhari with two Archons, kabalytes, venoms and a raider/ravager.

Necrons player has not finished his army, so I have no idea what to expect. Seems like he'll have tomb spiders or wraiths and infantry.

Imperial Guard player has not finished his army yet. He's going to have a leman russ, though.

Not sure what the best legion would be. No idea what marks to take or what to put then on.

I took alpha legion for the penalty to hit my dudes, but I know it doesnt work on the defiler.

I plan on adding a sorcerer and havocs with mark of slaanesh for the shoot again stratagem and 5+ fnp power at 750 points.

Any suggestions? Thank you.
