Are they too big for a daemon prince? Its hard to get an idea of their scale. I know a lot of people use hive tyrant wings. Are they similar sized?

Manticore wings are fairly comparable to the Tyrants. You'll be fine.
Another good source of wings (if you can find them on EBay, etc) is the old McFarlane Toys Dragons. These have the added bonus that many have a working ball joint that'll let you change the position of the wings.
They look awesome. They may be bigger than the proper DP wings but they certainly don't look too big for the model.
I'm actually converting the FW model of Mortarion into a dameon prince. He's about the same height as the regular daemon prince. I don't think these will look to large for him but I'm starting to think I might try something smaller so as not to draw too much away from the base model. Something more like the crypt horrors wings. Although these wings would look super cool!
