Why are the fallen always depicted as green when at the time of heresy the dark angels had black armour???

Their recruits from Caliban had started using green armour pre-Heresy (shoulder pad only?), and all of the Fallen are/were from the Caliban garrison. Also, they're not always in green armour - (from Gathering Storm: Rise of the Primarch) (from the GW web store)

All Fallen models I've seen are painted as pre-heresy.
Fallen models are just repainted DA vet squads, pretty lame as of now if you ask me, they could use an update

If you have the cash, FW's Horus Heresy Dark Angels are phenomenal models...you could use them with some conversions.
