Over the past 4 months I've been working on making and accumulating enough terrain to create modular, adaptable, and high quality terrain sets for 4ft x 6ft and 4ft x 4ft wargaming.

They come with pieces that measure either 4" x 4" or 4" x 8". You can assemble them in any fashion you want, giving us that precious customizability that tabletop wargamers crave.

I create these tiles with 3d printers, making my designs in Blender and printing them out one at a time. Subtracting the amount of time it took to make the designs, it's currently about 2 months to make a single set.

I only have one available in stock right now (it's 4ft x 4ft), but I'm offering it at a discounted rate for a week or so for anyone willing to check it out.

As I sell more units and invest in more 3d printers, I'm hoping to make more sets if people are interested in buying these.

Would you not be better now you have a single set creating moulds and casting them out of resin or even plaster, a two month return around seems excessive

4th company 3000pts
3rd Navy drop Command 3000pts air cavalry
117th tank company 5500pts

It's worth considering. I may eventually hire someone to do the mouldmaking but it would have to be very precise to match the detail of the 3d prints. 3d prints are also much less work to manage for now: I can leave them printing whilst I'm working from home with almost 0 maintenance.

In addition, the primary limitation is the number of 3d printers available at the moment. I'm planning on buying 2 new 3d printers with my tax return next month (will reduce the printing time to like 2 to 3 weeks)

look into vacuum forming. there are diy instructions on youtube. that is also the way forgeworld makes their terrain tiles, i.e. the crashed thunderhawk tile and so on.

With pieces being reasonably sized, they can be made with a relatively small setup, with each copy taking only minutes. The styrene sheets used as material may even be cheaper than the filament you'd consume printing.

Did some more research, I suspect that this would have problems with concave areas (i.e. areas that are concave inward and can't flow air out once the styrene has begun compression), but I will likely attempt this for other print designs like extension designs for convex prints or low-detail shapes, etc.

It'll have to wait as well until I get a larger workshop, currently the workshop is crammed with other projects and 3d printers/3d print materials.
