Hello everyone,

After some very positive reviews of some work I made for my Ravenwing army, I took the challenge to launch a Kickstarter campaign to screen print waterslide transfers for purity seals and parchments.

It's already funded and all stretch goals reached. I think this is an amazing deal for everyone.

Take a look Forgotten Chapter Transfers

I don't normally get down with transfers, as it's a small point of pride that I can and do paint all my own icons/etc.

But this. I can get down with this. I don't scribble on parchments/etc as it's too fine for me to do it accurately. So this has caught my interest.

These look really good, I may pick some up if you do retail. Not quite a unique idea, I've been using Ginfritters Gnomish Workshop decals for over 15 years (I painted this model back around 2005ish using the Ginfritter decals for all the scrolls), but those designs look really good and I like that it's a full page of decals

We'll find out soon enough eh.

I was a bit hesitant since I find transfers annoying enough to use that they have to be pretty cheap for me to bother with, but the fact a pledge now gets you the second free sheet, with Mechanicus stuff on it no less, yeah I'm in.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?

Backed. Looks like a good deal, hopefully works out.

That’s a lot of cuneiform. Can I back for a dollar and up my pledge in the (hopefully post-uncertainty) pledge manager?

The 2nd sheet came out nicely. It's jam packed!

That being said, I don't really have a use for the majority of what's on this sheet. Would it at all be possible to switch this sheet out for a 2nd copy of the other one?

I don't have that flexibility because the sheets are printed in pairs. I can, however, facilitate trade between backers. Perhaps using a query after the campaign and match backers on a first come first served base. If a backer wants 2 of the first sheet and the other 2 of the second sheets I guess I can ship switch. It may be a bit more work for me, but I am indoors anyhow.

I am definitely not using a pledge manager because I feel it will delay and complicate my initial plan. I am, however, thinking in creating another way of allowing add-ons through my online store. In that case you could add more sheets to your pledge until the shipping deadline.

Thank you for backing the project.
I am sure it will work, I am currently waiting for prints for another project to see the quality and level of detail. These details push a bit the limits of registration
My goal is to have everything shipped by the end of June, let see how Covid-19 works out.

Ah ok. No worries then, that's fair enough.

I suppose that also means we can't just add an extra sheet to our pledge, we'd have to add both?

Just a heads up, only 13 hours left on this. I was on the fence, but decided to back at the last minute here.

Hi everyone, thank you all for supporting the project!

When I initially planned the campaign I was expecting about a hundred backers so it clearly exceed all my expectations.
I created a form for any late backers since there was interested on it.
Now its time to relax for a few days and then start organising production!

Once again, thank you.

Unfortunately problems with the designs submitted to the printer as GW is claiming some as IP so the printer(s) won't go ahead,

He doesn't want to get involved with a legal fight with GW (hardly surprising) so he's looking at either redoing whatever they have a problem with (not specified but i'd guess either god or legion specific stuff?) or seeing if he can refund and cancel the project

I hope he can just redesign whatever is the issue since I don't need this to be 40K specific and have posted as much in the latest update,

if you agree (or if you prefer a redund) please let him know so he can make the best decision possible

We'll find out soon enough eh.

I responded. In full seriousness, it depends on exactly what GW are trying to claim ownership of - if it's the literally one or two very very edge cases, sure, do a quick redesign. If they're reverting to their pre-Chapterhouse days of claiming ownership over basic shapes and symbols then frankly I'd rather he use the money to pay a lawyer and fight the buggers, because they evidently need to be put back in their box again.

Message in question:

Hello everyone,

Unfortunately, I bring bad news.

Today, the printer transmitted me that some images in the prototype I send were claimed as intellectual property by GW and cannot proceed with printing. (last Friday I also received similar news from another printer I contacted earlier)

I do not want to infringe any intellectual property. When I started the campaign all I wanted is to make was an easy way of applying scripts to your models since most of us don’t have the technical skill to paint those details. All of it was for fun and I was honestly expecting a couple of backers to make the threshold and that was it.

For now, I made the following decisions:

I stopped accepting late pledges.

I cancelled all add-ons. Those who ordered add-ons were never contacted or charged so please consider your ordered cancelled.

As far as I understand my next options are either:

Submit a revised design to the printer which will then ask GW if the designs are OK.

Or just pull the plug on the campaign.

I do not want conflict of any kind and I am exploring both alternatives which include contacting KS regarding how I can refund pledges.

Thank you all for your support and I am sorry for this situation.

I will keep you posted once I have any further information or decision on the matter.
High-res images have been pulled from imgur sadly, but the second sheet had one or two Space Marine helmets present, might be that's what is causing the trouble.

That's literally insane for someone in his position, not to mention financially irresponsible and no doubt a violation of KS TOS.

Having said that, feel free to start a KS or GoFundMe to hire a lawyer yourself and pour your life's time and effort into fighting GW over some sword or skull icons.

If everyone keeps folding when GW make claims that have no legal merit, then what's the point of even having copyright law? It's not supposed to only protect corporations. Eventually either someone stands up to the bullying or what becomes "insane" is the idea that anyone outside of Russia or China can start a small business with products that even vaguely resemble a gothic sci-fi aesthetic.

I've backed it, and I think his best bet is to reach out to GW directly to see what the issue is. Looking at the sheets again - Inquisitor logo, GSC logo, possibly marine helmets?

Sure - but while I actually agree with you in principle, you have no right to suggest that someone else does it, let alone a specific person with KS funds pledged by others again for entirely different reasons who has already indiacated how stressed and upset he is by the situation. If you feel so strongly about it, then why don't you do it? I'll even throw in a few bucks to your GoFundMe as well if you're willing to put in all the work and stress. I'm sure the fight won't be detrimental to your mental or physical health, personal relationships nor cost you a lot of money, but even if it does - well, so what? It's not me, after all...

If you recall, Chapterhouse had a quality law firm working Pro Bono and still folded at the conclusion of the case, after a number of horrible, stressful years in court. Suggesting any specific person does the same shows a complete lack of empathy towards those individuals.

Yeah, kill the marine helmets, Inq symbols, Skaven triskele and move on. I'm pretty sure most of us were backing it for the fine print, so to speak...

Ditto...I backed for the tiny writing too and the obscure magical symbols, as my eyes are old and my hands are no longer steady. Actually, the GW symbols I would probably not use since I have a supply of the official GW stuff anyway.

Urusei Yatsura, Cerebus the Aardvark, Machiavelli, Plato and Happy Days. So, how was your childhood?

I was also planning not to use the GW symbols. Well, maybe an I or two.
