Just curious why they whole line may be out of stock at this point?

Sorry if this was posted in another area.

Thanks!

The line isn't out of stock. GW isn't taking physical orders due to COVID 19.

GW has shut down their factories in the UK. Since last week nothing is being produced, shipped nor transported. They've closed taking orders (except for digital products and one pre-order on a primaris limited edition model) on their website.

It's all the Corona 19 virus causing the UK to shut down non-essential businesses on the highstreet and GW following government advice to have staff work from home. Which for the factory means nothing can be done from home so its offline.

They expect to remain offline until April and that deliveries and releases might not restart until May. That assumes the UK reactivates on the 14th of April.

Note even if GW reopens some regions might not be able to restock because of their own measures. Note everything on the GW store is "out of stock" because its basically how they've disabled ordering.

For what it's worth, today I ordered the new Lt but I emailed customer service about adding things to my order for the free shipping (30 dollars otherwise) and I can't cause of the Corona virus.

"Thanks for contacting us. Our warehouses are not currently in operation due to the coronavirus situation. We've suspended web sales as a result, with Lieutenant Amulius being the only exception; he's a made to order item (MTO) that isn't expected to be available until October 2020. No other items are available to order at this time. Please note, however, that you can select ship to store which offers free shipping regardless of order value.

Plus even if the government issues a re-activation it doesn't mean all companies will reactivate on that day. GW clearly wants to operate and resume trading, but at the same time we've no idea what their back-end looks like. It might be that even if the UK side reactivates, they might require shipments of materials/product (eg packaging, plastic) which are delayed due to other events in the world. Even down to shipments being cancelled/redirected etc....

So they might remain out of action for longer. Plus they have to consider - do they re-activate for the UK market only or for the global - again sparking issues with some areas that might not have active postal systems, esp for overseas non-essential products.

Or perhaps they become aware of major outbreaks in Nottingham and decide to stay out of action for longer for their own safety.

There's lots of things that can cause further delay.

A lot of people are expecting this'll be like the spanish flu, where it tapers off in the summer and returns in a big way in the fall.

So far there is nothing to suggest it's seasonal.

Outside of several other viruses in the Corona family being seasonal? You're right though, the experts are saying it's too soon to tell. The spread of the virus in the southern hemisphere suggests hopes of a summer remission are unfounded.

(Note that is based on maybe five minutes of research reading articles in NatGeo and The Guardian.)
