just creative timing - ebay/ PP did one of those for the UK a short while back with a min payment of £200. It's nice and all but darn it those aren't the kinds of money you just splurge on the offchance because of a short term deal

I miss the % off deals they were doing for a while there. Right when the knight renegade box came out you could stack deals to get something like 40% off.

Yeah, they shitcanned those pretty quick. They probably realized people were holding off for the once-a-month sale. The sales were clever because they were 10-15% off (about what they make from fees - so they basically would not score income on the one day the sale was active, though PayPal - owned by eBay - would still be making money off the transactions).
But yes, the 15% off a product...then free shipping...then 15% off the whole order on top of it meant you could get some serious steals. Only way I could justify buying some GW models, if I'm honest.
