Hi all! Decided after many years of lurking through other people's blogs I would finally start my own. Nothing groundbreaking and very often the paintjobs will be quick tabletop jobs to get things on the table, but I'm comfortable with it which is ultimately what matters.
For some hobby background- I started like most with
40k, and I still have my first love of my old Ravenwing army which will likely see a full repaint one day. I moved on to Fantasy and later Warmachine which are both almost gone in their entirety now, replaced with Malifaux and Batman as my 2 main games. These have stayed around for almost 4 years now and my collections for each are quite extensive as you can see below. I've also been dabbling in many other things in more recent times and my focus in terms of painting is
really all over the place. I mainly use my
personal blog to display these things and also to give my insights on various different games, but I've decided to migrate a lot of the hobby stuff over here as well.
A bit about me- I'm 22, currently in my last semester of university studying an ancient history degree (which I'll get back to later). Ultimate goal is to do a masters and become a high school history teacher. I've been hobbying since I was 14, gaming since 16.
Some of my recent projects-
LotR- the older projects I'm opening with here, these go back to mid-last year. Army of the Dead obviously were a fairly quick project, and the Grey Company while being more technical were still low on models and thus not that long to get painted (my main list is 9 models, I have up to 20 painted)
Arena Rex- One of my favourite games from a theme point of view (it's the historian in me) and with some beautiful sculpts. This was a project I did around the same time as the
LotR stuff
Bushido- My main inspiration here is from
Gitsplitta's blog as I was very interested in Bushido for a while seeing how it went together and looked on a table. I bought into my own last year, finally painted them last month in anticipation of my group getting into it and then isolation happened... I still have my ninjas painted at least!
Warcry- One of my more recent projects, I kicked off painting my Warcry stuff about a month ago (just after my Bushido stuff was painted) with the Chimera and painted up my Untamed Beasts last week
Star Wars Legion- Got the starter set at Christmas time, picked up a few units not long after to flesh it out. Made some progress but still a bit to go.
I think that's enough for a start! Will follow this up with a bit more of my Batman and Malifaux projects and my current
WIP very soon
