Hi alL
Are the arm of the old space marines and Primaris space marines the same size? For conversion purposes.
Thanks

No, they're different sizes.
The only cross-compatible parts are heads, shoulder pads and hands.

I prefer to buy from miniature manufacturers that *don't* support the overthrow of democracy. |

'Different sizes' isn't entriely true; they are extremely similar. They are the same thickness/ girth, the length from the elbow to the wrists is the same, hands are the same. The only difference is the upper arm is slightly longer in the primaris kits. A very easy fix - regular marine arms are definitely compatible with primaris bodies. Even if you don't want to modify the regular marine arm, you can just position it slightly lower on the shoulder joint and cover it with the shoulder pad.

And some of the later kits might be close enough.
Also, Some powerfists look fine, if that’s what you are after.

Well I’ve got power swords and axes I wanted to use. I have some spare Primaris atms so I’ll just chop them off at the wrist. Thanks for the input, I might position the arm lower and fill the gap with green stuff to make the shoulder pad more sturdy

I think most of my power sword work was swapped at the wrist. I did use a Tart TDA arm for one.

Primaris hands are noticebly bigger.

Hands are the same size or so close its not visibly noticeable. Maybe the Primaris guys in that new not/not terminator armour are that large, but normal Primaris and normal classic marines have the same size hands for sure.

Just to add a third opinion. They seem to me to be slightly different sizes. Within the range of scale creep, and not noticeable, but there. I’ve done a number of weapon swaps including the hand, to give sarges power swords, and am quite happy with the results.
