Hi guya!
Im having trouble making mt oil wash stick on my metal paints. Theyre just regular metal paints from scale 75 and the oil paint is from windsor newton. Any ideas on how to counter this? Does coat of varnish help?

For sure, any time you're doing washes or using oils a gloss or satin varnish coat will help unify the surface and allow the washes to move evenly over the different paints you used.

Stick where? Oil washes are not meant to stick to your flat panels if that's what you mean, they're supposed to run into your crevices through capillary action. If you want to tint your surfaces you need to do filters, which is a slightly different technique.

Is it the metal ball bit you want it to go on? Because I'd probably fine line that rather than wash it personally. Otherwise you could try applying the wash and leaving the mini on its side while it dries to keep the metal ball uppermost.

Gloss varnish will not help you here.. It will make the issue worse as surface tension will be increased and the wash will flow off even quicker.

Alternatively, you could put a dab of oil paint on it, then remove it with mineral spirits to leave the oil in the crevices
