I am not gonna pretend to know a lot about how to build or play Thousand Sons properly, all I can say is, I saw a youtube-video once, where a guy had a Thousand Son's army, that was awesome to behold.
At least I can provide you with the link, maybe as an inspiration?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BeZV-uGc9ng
There are more videos on the channel, where he explains the army in detail, and more battle reports for them.

What is your plan for the army?

I personally don't enjoy the current meta of spam tzangors till you can't place any more of them, unless that has changed recently.

I usually run:

Ahriman
a prince with wings

10x3 basic rubrics

10 basic scarabs with missiles

and depending on how I feel at the time I'll take a stargate.

and then as many sorcs/exalted sorcs as I can fit in the list to finish out points (usually in the form of a supreme command detachment)

at higher point levels I bring my best boy Magnus and/or a knight despoiler.

this may not be the best list, but I really enjoy the randomness of the psychic phase, and it keeps my opponents at my FLGS on their toes.

EDIT: because I forgot this point, I feel like the Scarabs are super good currently due to throwing 4 AP-2 shots per Scarab down range after moving full movement.
EDITv2: I'm a huge fan of giving Magnus Warptime, also this list is mostly because its all I own lol

List looks fun to use.

Keep in mind, with 9th today you will suddenly have next to no HQ slots- so will either need at least 4 troops choices (for a battalion + patrol), or to cut down your number of beloved HQs to three. In my opinion, ahriman + two DPs should be plenty, especially if you're keeping magnus.

5 chaos spawn sound pretty great as chaff/screen, but you could probably drop them in favour of
1. expanding the tzaangors to 30 (either a unit of 30, or 3x10)
2. getting some scarab occult terminators. From what I know, these guys are beast now. chucking out 40 ap-2 shots is crazy, and they did very well from the pts changes.

I don't know the mutalith that well, but I know that it is intensely unreliable- and if you only have 1, it's going to get shot at a lot. It's an awesome model, so go ahead and use it but I think it's just too unreliable. I'd favour, again, a big unit of the occult termies.

Also consider you've written this list based on 8th edition detachments+points, so while TS got blessed, there is slightly less wriggle room- especially with HQ slot as previously mentioned.

I am super sad about this change in 9th edition. My entire 8th T-Sons army was built around running HQs lol now I need to buy more rubrics, or pay 3CP for a single HQ model.
