Cool stuff. I just bought a light box too. Black background seems to work much better than white with my camera.

These look fantastic! Especially the paint chipping, edges and details on the vehicles. The lightbox really makes it easier to see your lovely work.

I see you have a problem with a contrast on your pictures. It could be a light that hits lenses, bad setting of camera, dirty lens, or just a camera fault (I had one lens that was doing that for no reason). Probably the first or second. You have to try set you camera manually - the best setting for miniatures is low ISO, long time of exposure, and small shutter. If you have a zoom (optical, not digital) stand as far as you can and zoom in on the object. Of course a tripod is a must if you will take a longer exposure (under 1/60s is hard to keep stable hands). You can PM me if you want some details or any help on this.

nice work.
try moving your light source forward a bit (towards the camera) and place a sheet of tracing or grease-proof paper over your lamp. this will diffuse the light a bit and reduce the shadow. you might also want to put another lamp to the right.

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

How come some of the vehicles have highlights and some of them don't? The Eldar and Ork vehicles especially could use with some highlights and shading. The first tank you posted at the top looks awesome though. Also realy like your ork warboss, looks proper nice them colours like. GJ on Thraka as well.

Edit: Some of the bases have like sand actually on the base rim not sure if that's the effect you were after but I'm not a huge fan. I would put watered down PVA glue on the top only and once sand is applied I'd go round and remove any offensive grains that hang over the edge or, god help us - around the rim. Good job though.

I think it's textured paint on the rims there?

The photos are definitely better, just need a few more steps. I'm not sure what kind of camera you're using (mine are both...quite crap), but some simple photo editing can adjust your pics.

Keep in mind though, that photo-editing can also...misrepresent your miniatures. Here is an example of your picture with a couple of swaps. Using GIMP (free version of Photoshop, kinda), I did two different "fixes" to boost your picture.

Two options to "clean" up the picture slightly, and I don't know feth-all about photography, this is just stuff I've stumbled on.
