Greetings everyone,

I have been toying around with the idea of a Korean Air game, but I need to find out how easy it is to get some of the aircraft in miniature. Since I am in the US, US distributors would be appreciated. I am looking for 1/300 or 1/285 scale but really any scale will work.

I am especially interested in the following aircraft:

USAF
- P-80 Shooting Star
- F-95 Starfire
- F-84 Thunderjet

USN
- F9F Panther/Cougar

Communist Forces
-Yak-18 Max
-Yak-9 Frank
- LA-11 Fang
-Tupolov TU-2

British
- Hawker Sea Fury
- de Havilland Vampire
- Gloster Meteor

I am finding Mig-15s, B-29 Super Fortress, and F-86 Sabres pretty easy to find, but other aircraft of the period a bit tougher. A few here and there from "1-man shop" type places and often sold out or no longer stocked.

If you could give me a hand that would be great!

Those aircraft would probably be difficult to find in metal. But I bet Shapeways would have them.

I've purchased a bit from I-94 Enterprises. They do carry Check Your 6! products. On a quick site search, they have some korean planes, but not a wide variety.

It seems that some metal lines have been discontinued.

I did also buy some small (like dime sized) metal F-4's at a convention, I'm trying to see if I still have the name of that company. They seemed to have a wide selection of metals for vietnam, korea, etc. I'll post back if I find it. (They were not GHQ, who has some NATO and some Warsaw Pact, but not what you're looking for).

As Eumerin said, shapeways might be the call.

I found Tumbling Dice seem to have a good selection but at 1/600 not 1/300 or 1/144.

I don't know if you're still looking, and the scale is probably wrong. But Warlord is adding the F-80C and F-9F to its Blood Red Skies range.

Thanks! They all ready had the Mig and Sabre. I wonder how far they are going to expand it?

At the very least, I'd be surprised if they didn't add a couple more Communist aircraft soon. And, of course, the range includes the P-51 if you want some historical MiG vs Mustang battles.

Do they have any Yaks in that line?

After all the North Koreans used Il-10;s, Yak-7s, Yak-9s, and a few other late war Soviet craft.

I might have to go take a look.

The only Yak so far is the Yak-1. They do have a card pack with stats for the Yak-7D and Yak-9B, for those who can get models via other sources. But the Soviet models that have been released so far are only from the early and mid-war periods.
