And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days, from this day to that, for one chance –just one chance! –to come back here and tell Games Workshop that they may take our hard earned cash but what we really fancy...is a reprint of that old game thats now out of print!

Seriously, what old game - doesn't have to be by GW - would you jump at the chance to own? Was it a game you missed out on, or was it one where you owned it many moons ago but was so cruely parted from? Was your obsession to have a copy of the game so great that you even tried to make your own version from scratch?

Magic the Gathering: "Beta" or "Unlimited" sets.
Because I want others to be able to enjoy actual P9 cards & original duel lands - without resorting to printing proxies or having to sell a kidney or something for a scrap of cardboard.

Other than that, you know what?
Between an extensive Minis/Board/RPG collection of my own, a decent sized circle of friends with sizable collections, the internet, & 3D printing - I can't really think of any.
I don't really count printing files as "making it myself".

Wonderful answer!

Me? I dunno. The original Aeronautica maybe? The rewrite is worse than Dreadfleet.

The starship troopers game. Missed it whilst out of the hobby, and loved the one and only game I had of it.

I'd also like to see a working edition of sedition wars available, as it had a lot of potential.

MGP really butchered certain aspects of that game, but I have to agree with you. I played it heavily, and can't remember a more free-flowing and fun table top experience!

I'd also like to see Vor, Western Front Tank Leader, and Air Cav reprinted.

Edit: I just googled ablutions and apparently it does not including dropping a duece. I should have looked it up early sorry for any confusion. - Baldsmug

At least the bits from before the prequels and the fact Decipher knew they were losing the licence sent it all a bit bonkers, agreed.

Epic is by far and away the game I desire to see returned followed very closely by Battlefleet Gothic.

Outside of GW? Honestly, Sedition Wars. Yeah the Kickstarter and boxed games rules were a disappointment for many but the miniature designs and overall aesthetic I really enjoyed. I would love to have seen the Firebrand fleshed out. Shame really...

Epic armageddon or B5: call to arms. Hard to say which one. EA would benefit lot if model range would be redone. B5 had good enough model range.

There was a Babylon 5 game? With little White Stars, Starfuries and those cool-ass Minbari cruisers? How could you keep this from me!

There were like 3 Babylon 5 games. You can still buy minis from Agents of Gaming.

Hmm for me I don't really want to see "reprint" but rather "remakes" because for the games I want to see back there have been such strides in the market and technology that I wouldn't really want whole armies of the old models.

1) Epic+Titan Legions - we are slowly getting there, I can see it happening but not for some years. Even if we don't get there I really hope to see Xenos titans in Adepticus Titanicus.

2) Man O War - revamped for Age of Sigmar. Because sea games are rare and about the only sea ship fantasy game since Man O War was Uncharted Seas which died a death and likely will remain dead for very very very many more years (WC have good designers, but they take a long time to bring a game back to the market). Which I guess is me saying Man O War or Uncharted Seas

3) Space Hulk. I've missed this 3 times, mostly because every time it comes around again I'm in a "I'm not playing Warhammer/nids" mode. I'd love to see it come back, but not as a one-shot game; but as a proper continuing game. Much like Blackstone/Warhammer Quest.

4) Rackhiem - I really like the model designs and style that they had going with that game. It's a huge shame its basically been a dead duck for a long while and it seems the company that currently holds it can't even run a company without failing (SD seems to have a lot of directors of other failed sister companies.....).

This would be great with the GSC range as strong as it is now. Maybe an expansion for Tau with Stealth suits or Breachers. Grey Knight Termies vs Demons...many possibilities.

Two were with Agents of Gaming, in two scales. Mongoose made the third game, but mostly kept the same miniatures as B5 Wars. Mostly.

Oh, and I think they made a 28mm B5 range, too, but never saw them in the flesh.

Right there with you. Beyond the very well played sets I have on hand for casual play, there's no shortage of ridiculous stuff salted away in my own safety deposit boxes.

But it's got nothing to do with wanting more for myself or others who're already set.

How could you have not seen it? B5 Wars is pretty clunky but ACTA and Fleet Action are both great, there was an epic scale ground game as well (GROPOS) but I have no idea if it was any good.

Starship Troopers (Mongoose), because of the superb rules and the great arachnid models. Got many of the models (and the basic game a few times), but some are missing and expensive to get.

Alien vs. Predator (Prodos). Love the style and many of the models. Customer support sucked, though.

Space Crusaders (Prodos). Missed out on some of the cringey and not cringey models I wanted, because I had a huge order cancelled by a 3rd party shop just before the sale was put down. Customer support was a little dodgy (same company as AvP).

I always had two of those from GW:

• Space Hulk (thanks, I was in the loop because played 40k at the time the rerelase dropped, so now I'm good!)

• Advanced Space Crusade (a quirky game that played a bit like a hybrid between 40k and Space Hulk. It had some wonderful rules mechanisms, was AP based. I have missed it dearly since I last played it)

As tyranids, GSC and Space Marines have become much more fleshed out since the original ASC, I bet it would make for even a more interesting game now! IIRC you could even have guard if you played the Imperium..

There were two. First small scale one where each ship was VERY detailed and 5 vs 5 would take long time.

Later in 2000's Mongoose Publishing got rights to game and existing model line from previous company(though that company was allowed to sell existing stock and seems they cast TONS of stuff in advance to the effect you could still order stuff from them YEARS after the deal...And was one way to get fighters that were individual models. Mongoose went for stand of many small fighters) and made more of fleet sized game where you could have easily 10+ ships plus fighters.

Minbari were terror indeed. And shadow vessels became fittingly scary when they introduced "armageddon" level point values(incidentally it worked so that you chose game size and points for that so like 5 raid or 5 battle or 3 battle. Each ship cost 1 something and bigger values could be split to lower values. So 1 battle could take 2 raid(I think). You could split raid into 2 skirmish or was it 3 patrol. I think you could only split one of the split ones).

So it was patrol - skirmish - raid - battle - something - armageddon. So for shadow vessel you could split it to 2 something and then split the other to 2 battle etc.

Might misremember something.

Interesting system that made bigger stuff relatively cheaper/pricier depending on game size. Though generally favoured cheap stuff(but alternative actions was also to blame. If you had twice the ships you generally benefitted. Especially vs fleet that was based on boresight(straight ahead) weapons since only way you could get lined up was to aim at ship that had already moved...This was annoying because it hurt in particular 2 iconic vessels. The narn heavy cruiser(G'Quan) and Omega class destroyer from show! Both being battle and needing some cheap activations to get their main guns pointing to target...)

Ah yes that one was fun too though for arachnids steep learning curve it seems(or we just sucked ).

Incidentally some store got right to cast and sell some stuff so for example one of the power armour suits and the light infantry could be bought. I actually thought they were recasting and contacted Matt but he confirmed it's legit.

The other scale is War (patrol, skirmish, raid, battle, war, armageddon).

Originally the system was released with one point higher buys two lower, ie. 1 skirmish point buys you 2 patrol whilst 1 raid would buy you 6 patrol. This was later changed to a far better system where 1 skirmish buys 2 patrol but one raid buys three patrol ships. This prevents spamming and initiative sinking to the ridiculous levels of the original.

Right war. Thanks.

Yeah the original splitting was even worse but even new one wasn't perfect and this was compounded by AA(see? AA isn't holy grail ) which in turn was compounded with boresight weapons. At worst you had stuff like one omega cruiser vs 2 smaller ships. In theory good nice game. In practice if small ships were split you got one shot with main guns half the time and then you didn't get any until your secondaries took out other(which could be hard. secondaries weren't THAT powerful). And that's assuming smaller ship isn't manouverable enough to stay out of front anyway.

So you needed initiave sinks. A lot. As it is for narn's it was the skirmish level ships that were the king. G'quan was not that good(well the bigger games helps them as the split system did have advantage of favouring bigger ships in bigger games. 5 battle was different to 10 raid despite nominally being "same")

I'd like to see another space hulk edition with deathwing instead of blood angels and genestealer cultists amongst the genestealers included in the box. I guess another reprint of the current box would be fine but I feel like a refresh of the physical compenents would be cool.

Ah, I was abscent from the hobby for what must have been...15 years? Probably how I missed the B5 games. It was out of steam at the end, but I loved those massive space battles in the show and especially the Earth battleships with the rotating hulls. Thanks for the heads up on that one.

For Space Hulk, Deathwing should be a given due to their origin story - painting their armour white before liberating their homeworld from a gene-cult. Thats quite a grudge the DW has against the slobby-chops!
