A little heads up if anybody here is interested in plastic dinosaurs.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/petersengames/dinosaur-1944/description
All miniatures are in 28mm scale to realistic accuracy. Dinosaurs are scaled per paleontological reference.
This link leads to a picture showing the scale:

Automatically Appended Next Post: The game itself is a Tower defence style game where the waves of dinosaurs are attacking and the US soldiers defend their base camp.
It is based on the Orcs Must Die rules (this game is OMD 2.0 basically). I haven't played OMD, so cannot say anything more about that.
The add on turns the tables: Players play dinosaur heroes that defend a time portal against hordes of US soldiers (including tanks).
Also the add on adds rules for team play; one team plays the soldiers and another team plays the dinos. Both teams defend their home base against waves of enemies. So it is basically 2 games played side by side. The thing is that the team has to choose some of the players to defend their home base while others are moving to the other map to invade the opposing home base.

Yes, they want to be conservative in their delivery estimate in these trying times. Also, they have had their kickstarters delivered later than estimated, so they are giving themselves more breathing room.
I'm sure they will deliver this earlier than estimated if everything goes well...

Not sure if I need the whole game, but an option just to buy the dinos would be cool.

Half a crap given to making the dinos reasonably accurate. I'm impressed.

I love the idea here. The game is short one robot GI from being the old DC comic, The War That Time Forgot.
Even better would be if they somehow added compatibility between this an Planet Apocalypse or Cthulhu Wars. Imagine having the US army having to fight off Dark Young in the jungles while dinosaurs do battle with greater demons.
Or you could just have the US fighting Pulgasari.

i'd prefer it was more of a minis game and less board gamey. But that is just me -- Boards make a lot more money and I wish it success.

Well, Petersen Games are a board game company. IIRC they lost money when they tried to step into the miniatures game side (with their Cthulhu line), so I don't expect they will try that again anytime soon…

The final add on is revealed, as well as the all-in pledge level ($159 + shipping to get everything).
Since this is a game from Sandy Petersen, naturally a few mythos related monsters got added to the game as bosses. Also, a pair of Japanese tanks (crewed by Yithian possessed people).
Elder Thing, Flying Polyp and both a Future and a Past Yithian.
Also, a Megalodon makes an appearance.

Yeah - I'd happily put some cash for a dino-mini only pledge. But have no real interest in the game either.

I keep waffling back and forth on this one. I really like a lot of those dino sculpts.

IF the sculpts are good, you get a lot of 28mm (?) scale dinosaurs and WWII men/vehicles for only $159 - and it then comes with a free board game too!

I couldn't resist. 28mm dinosaurs eating soldiers? Sure. My son loves dinos and the fact that he can play the dinos as the heroes fighting off the soldiers? Even better.
It makes me remember back to one of the first issues of Dragon magazine I bought.
It had rules for using grocery store bags of green army men vs cheap plastic dinosaurs.
I wonder now if Sandy was involved in that too...
