Locked in the Tower of Amareo

Hello. Got today totally trounced vs bonereapers with flesh eater court. Next week would have another game. Any suggestions on how to tackle them? I'm at loss on how to deal with 3+ rerollable save with possible 5+++ with them having rend.

Today basically 20 foot guard marched and engaged 10 ghouls wiping, got 20 more to attack who then on my turn fell back and let 40 charge in. Could only get ~22 into combat so was killing 2-3 per round(so double that with command ability) which wasn't making much dent since he had Arkhan to resurrect 3 per unit. Well not that he really needed more than 3 for one unit...

Mounted terrorgheist slurped unit of 3 big melee looking thingies(4 wound each) barely with double fight though wasn't helped by not single 6 on 3 attacks rerolling misses. Then got hit by 2 catapults and then 2 more some big melee guys. Well with 12 attacks hitting on 3+(relic on me), wounding on 3+ and me saving on 4+ 2-3 past saves for 10-15 damage was about average...Other terrorgheist(unridden) struggled to deal with another infantry mob(failed to reach more appealing target) and got swamped with all those -1 rend attacks.

My magic was totally shut down by terrain(-1 to my cast) and arkhan(+2 to dispel).

Luckily next week unlikely to face Arkhan unless new guy gets up more.

I have 100 ghouls, unmounted terrorgheist, mounted terrorgheist and zombie dragon, one monster kit unbuilt, 9 crypt flayers, 6 horrors, vargulf, 3 crypt ghoul courtier, archregent.

Current idea is archregent, 2 mounted terrorgheist, vargulf, 2x10 ghouls(screen purposes), 9 flayer, extra CP. Blisterskin.

Not sure if given choice should I go first or second. Second gives me chance for double turn but those catapults are super scary...Hopefully there will be something I can hide big flyers first up.

Heeeelp! I'm totally stumped on what to do. He looked to have mounted cavalry leader, big pile of infantry and 2 catapults. Couldn't tell up much more than that. No Arkhan so at least my magic might get off...

You'll need to lean hard on the units that deal MWs. Flayers and terrorgheists. Blisterskin is a good idea, the artifact will help and the command trait is extremely useful for the army. Basic ghouls are for objectives; assume they will deal no damage in melee.

Go second. There's relics around in Realm Artefacts that can give a terrorgheist a negative to hit. You aren't going to reach the catapults on turn 1 no matter what. Eat the one round of shooting, and avoid the chance of taking two full rounds of shooting in a row if you get double turned by going first in round 1.

You might be able to get on to the catapults on turn 2/ off a double turn.

You're also fast, much faster than Ossiarchs. If you get a mission type that benefits speed and has spread out objectives, use that to your advantage.

There are ways to win a game, without slaughtering the enemy. One game I played as OBR, I had 3 Stonehorn's in my face on the first turn, and even though I eventually killed them, the enemy had claimed enough objectives for long enough that I was unable to come back on victory points.

FEC are not a durable army, even with their regenerative capacity. They generally do need to inflict a lot of damage to the enemy, especially if he is running the catapults which are excellent for slaughtering FEC objective holders.
