A few mates and I are getting together after lockdown restrictions ease to play with plastic men and roll dice in a mini-tournament. Playing mono-Khorne daemons, so not a competitive choice to begin with, but hoping not to get steamrolled each game. My opponents are Primaris, Imperial Knights, and either AM/Chaos soup/Imperial Knights.

Battle plan is simple: target saturation, move forward, bloodletters on objectives. C+C appreciated.

I quite like this list. Simple and lots of high threat targets. If you have the models, I would trade 1 soul grinder for 3 units of hounds. This will help with more objective control.

Good list, I would highly suggest making the two non-warlord bloodthirsters exalted to make each one a threat with the bonuses instead of focusing down your WL first.

Is there a reason why you are not using the exalted bloodthirster stratagem on each bloodthirster ? You could spend 2CP on each bloodthirster and roll 4D6 in total, to get up to 4 different abilities. Or you could roll 2D6 once, and pick a third ability.

I doubt very much that is how the "trait's" work. RAW might allow it but I'm sure it'll be FAQ'd to specifically disallow multiple uses of the stratagem per GD. By that logic why stop at 2 uses per? Why not go all 3 and sit there and roll dice and piss off your opponent trying to roll a straight run on 6 dice until you have all 6.

Unless GW says otherwise I'm going to start 9th edition playing it as 1 use per GD. 12 CP doesn't go as far as you think. I'm not going to blow 1/2 of my CP trying to "game" the rules. (I run 3 GD's).

Good luck waiting for that FAQ. Saga of the beast has been released many weeks ago, and there isnt a FAQ for it yet. With the new edition launching, you can expect FAQs for the last PA books next year.

Either way I'm not going to play someone who tries that. Not the only Daemon player in my store. If the other 2 Daemon players try that stunt I'll pack my minis back up and walk away and wait for a "not TFG" to come along.
