Hello guys, currently sitting at 5,000 Points of Death Korps of Krieg and with the arrival of the new edition I am really wanting to build a close combat oriented Army. However I'm having a hard time deciding between either the Black Templars or Night Lords, I am a huge fan of both armies looks and lore. I really would appreciate your guys's thoughts and opinions on the matter, thanks for helping an indecisive individual choose!

I've always wanted a Templars army myself. Bonus points because you're taking the most underpowered Marine faction in the Imperium, so that will substantially stem the salt of your opponents.

I voted Black Templars but Night Lords have access to psykers.

Man I'd love to build a Black Templar army with those sweet new primaris vets abd the indomitus characters...

Templars. I just think they look cooler than Night Lords.

Night Lords, so your kriegers have opposing army to fight when you cant play against others. Also you can ally kriegers to you night lords in narrative games for their creepy gas masks. "Are you my mummy?"

Night Lords. Never collect two armies belonging to the same faction unless you'd really love to soup or you already have multiple armies.

Night Lords for me. They’re my favourite traitor legion, and I’d be collecting them properly if I didn’t start a bunch of them on the old CSM bodies about a month before the new CSM models were announced. Kinda ruined it for me.

I'd go with BT then, even as an ardent chaos player, mostly because you have a higher chance of getting stuff...

I voted Templars mostly because I have a soft spot for them. They were my first ever 40k army back in 3rd. Also, Marines look like they are going to be strong in the new edition (if you care about that sort of thing).

Saying that, Nightlords are pretty cool and I think their legion trait will be more useful in 9th with the changes to morale.

Truth be told Templars have access to an Inquisitor.

But I would vote Black Templar for being the only marine chapter I think is equally as angry as the world eaters and as a chaos player I respect that!
