This might sound like an odd question. But are there black holes in 40K lore? I never see any on any starmap. And they rarly get talked about.

I don't see why there wouldn't be any?

The thing is, black holes are very interesting if you're into physics because they really push the boundaries of scientific models and theories we have.

If you're not into physics, well they're just massive things that you can't see or get anywhere near. Unless the writers decide that black holes should have magical properties because of reasons, they're not really relevant to anything.

Black holes sure are there, and if memory serves me Deldar ships sometimes hide in them.

Their nature tends to be all over the place though. Sometimes they, like stars, mess with the warp by simply existing. Something about them being too large concentrations of... for the lack of a better word, "realness" to not affect the unreality in a reverse warp rift sorta way.

More rarely, of the few times they get mentioned at all, the serve as gateways to the warp, with there being a black hole at the center of the EoT in Angel Exterminatus.

They're so rarely brought up that there doesn't seem to be much of a consensus amongst writers on what they should be.

Yes. There were even rules for them in BFG IIRC.
