With 9th Edition imminent I've been hard at work on my Eldar. My overall theme for the army is that of ghostly Exodites, the Infantry are primarily Hexwraith Flame over Grey Seer Spray and shadow added via Coelia Greenshade. Metal is just done with a Game Color Gun Metal and then picked over with Nihilakh Oxide. Finally where I can I've picked out the Soul Stones with Spiritstone Red. This looks pretty good and I'm happy with it, it contrasts well with my muddy bases.

The Vehicles are where I'm having most of the trouble, I only included the Infantry scheme for the sake of completion. I've tried the same scheme as my army but it looks very bad on such large models, less ghostly and more Biel-Tan. I think instead of having them look ghostly it makes more sense to have them look run down/forgotten. Rust doesn't seem like the right effect as Eldar Vehicles aren't made of metal but seeing as my bases are very swampy that presented an option.

I'm not a very good painter and a worse color-theorist but my idea is to apply an easy to work with base, wash with Agrax Earthshade, and then apply some moss and things to the actual hull. Originally I was thinking Nuln Oil for the wash but I'm looking for less oily and more earthy so Agrax makes more sense to me. The main issue I'm having is picking a color as the base, I want something that's both easy to work with and will show the dirt of the wash very well. I wouldn't mind doing two colors since Eldar Vehicles have very easy to work with lines but I still need some advice there. Ideally it would look good with a dirty complexion and some moss hanging here and there (largely on the sides and engines).

I'd love to hear any suggestions, even better if there's an example I can look at for the finished effect of the base and wash. Thanks to anyone with some words of advice. :]
